My partner and I stayed at Pia Bella recently for a week's break. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff, who were friendly for the entire time we were there and couldn't do enough to help. We had a nice room that was comfortable and clean, the TV had some good channels too, which was a pleasant surprise. Nice garden setting outside with a large pool, although we didn't use it at this time of year! You can get into town in about 15 minutes if you don't mind the walk or take a taxi if you... more
We've just returned from our second break at Pia Bella, we booked through GoNorthCyrpus both times and both times we were treated exceptionally well. Our room was spacious and clean, overlooking the pools and gardens. Everything in the room was well maintained but the bathroom tap was a little leaky on arrival. The issue was resolved quickly, however. The staff are excellent, very friendly and they really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome and valued. Food was good and varied enough for... more
This was our third visit to northern Cyprus and our second time staying at Pia Bella. We booked last year through gonorthcyprus and enjoyed it so much we decided to return in 2018. It's such a welcoming place, we arrived late yet were given something to eat and drink and made to feel right at home. Our room was a good size and comfortable, the pool area is pleasant and very clean and there's plenty of choice at breakfast. If you're around for the evening meal you won't be disappointed either. Not... more
My wife and I stayed at Pia Bella recently after getting a good deal from our agent gonorthcyprus. We'd read the recent reviews and the hotel sounded ideal for us - nothing too fancy but not basic either. When we arrived the staff were lovely and friendly, in fact they were great for the duration of our stay and always helpful in giving advice and information. Our room was good and looked newly renovated, nice walk-in shower. Some work was still going on during our stay but you have to expect that... more
After reading the reviews we were excited to book a break at Pia Bella and found the best price through gonorthcyprus.com, which also included transfers. We were very relaxed when we arrived thanks to the transfers being arranged in advance but we were quite tired as it was late, so it was wonderful to be greeted with dinner and shown to our beautiful room, which was spotlessly clean, comfortable and welcoming. The staff were lovely, friendly and efficient, and there's a pleasantly calm atmosphere... more
We found Pia Bella on the GoNorthCyprus website and were impressed by the hotel's appearance and nice setting. We booked a week and were given a very good price that included hotel transfers, which was useful and took away some of the planning stress. When we arrived we found the hotel to be clean and comfortable and the staff very friendly. The hotel grounds and pool areas were lovely and our room was very spacious and attractively decorated. We enjoyed all our meals here, which were tasty and... more
Have not been for a few years so wondered what had changed , The casino is open again next door, so parking out the front in the evening a little difficult at time , but the Hotel does have a large car park at the rear , we went for superior rooms this time overlooking the pool and stayed Bed and Breakfast, choice was ample , the room was clean and comfortable, aside from one dip in the pool we spent our holiday re-exploring the North . suited all our needs... more
My partner and I paid our first visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in July this year and were guests at the Pia Bella Hotel. We had no idea what to expect. From the outset however, the staff were exceptionally friendly, the accommodation excellent, the food fresh and plentiful, and the location so close to the beautiful Kyrenia Harbour area. We shall definitely be back sometime in the future.... more
We returned to Pia Bella for the third time this year on our annual spring break, we always book through Go North Cyprus and Mandy never fails to find us the best prices. The staff at the hotel are always friendly and pleasant, they know us by name now and couldn't be more attentive. The hotel itself has an upmarket, quality feel without being stuffy, which appeals to us, as does the exceptional service. Located just outside town, the hotel is relaxed and set away from the hustle and bustle of the... more
Having known Pia Bella for many years, but not to stay, we were impressed by the appearance of the place and the standard of attention we received from the staff. As we were in Cyprus to catch up with old friends and haunts we were only using the hotel as a base so did not dine there, but the breakfasts and accommodation were excellent. The service we had from Pacific Car Hire was also first class.Thank you all again, we will use GNC the next time we return... more
I don't usually write reviews but having seen some bad ones of this hotel I felt I had to address the balance. We booked our fortnight at the Pia Bella in Kyrenia through our favourite travel site; gonorthcyprus.com. We love northern Cyprus and like to try different hotels and this company never fails to deliver (big thanks to Garry). After a very long night flight the 6 of us arrived at Pia Bella around 10.30am. It was pretty warm and even though we were hours ahead of the check in time they gave... more
We have just spent our 3rd holiday at the PiaBella unfortunately I was ill the whole time. The Staff could not have been kinder. Ali, one of the waiters, looked after me like I was family. All the staff were very kind , friendly. The hotel is beautifully kept from the pools, gardens, rooms, dining room etc. We shall definitely be going back. The trip was far easier this time by going via Larnaca. Costs a little more but after 2 previous horrendous trips via Turkey we decided the extra well worth... more
AS expats who lived in Northern Cyprus for 10 years we decided to return for one week to visit our friends.I am glad we chose to stay at the Pia Bella Hotel not only because it is convenient walking distance to the High Street and the Harbour but it is so accomodating to visitors. The staff were very pleasant and anxious to please and the food was good. Add an ensuite room and overall there is nothing that was lacking.Thankyou Pia Bella.... more
The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Kyrenia, but is within walking distance of the main tourist area. Although surrounded by other buildings, the layout of the hotel and grounds creates a peaceful relaxing ambiance. The rooms were clean and well maintained as were the restaurant and other public areas and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was certainly abundant and of a reasonable quality, especially at breakfast where all manner of breads were baked fresh behind the serving... more

We had a flight delay so arrived later than expected, the staff put us at ease and offered us a complimentary drink, soup and sandwich. All staff remained friendly and approachable throughout and kept a super sense of humour, just right for the holiday spirit. Our room was functional rather than luxurious but perfectly adequate. The two hotel pools were in beautiful grounds all well maintained. One drawback is its at least a 15 minute walk to the centre or harbour, this can take longer in summer... more
We visited the Pia Bella for the third time for two weeks in August/September. Previously we have stayed in block three, overlooking the carpark and mountains, this time we elected to upgrade to a junior suite, the room was lovely and composed two rooms, balcony off each and a bathroom, the only problem is the aspect, the balcony's overlook the back streets and bins and are not really nice to sit on and relax, it would seem all suites are on that side of the hotel, so if you like a pool view the... more
This was our 2nd stay at this hotel last stayed in 2002. Whilst it has grown in size it has managed to retain its family run friendly atmosphere. Every member of staff is very welcoming, helpful and friendly. We would certainly recommend this hotel and would visit again. This hotel has the most repeat visitors I have ever come across. There is a large car park,so no problem if you hire a car during your stay. Which would be a good idea if you enjoy a beach. Although the two pools were lovely. The whole... more
We stayed for thirteen days, from 2nd August 2015, and were impressed by the cleanliness all round and enjoyable time spent throughout our stay. We were picked up by private taxi to and from the airport which made our journey stress fee. The main reception desk was very well managed and the staff was very helpful. The gardens were very well looked after with plenty of seats and sunbeds. The rooms were very clean and tidy with efficient air conditioning and the pools were immaculate. The food provided... more
The Pia Bella is an old-fashioned sort of hotel - and all the better for it. It's peaceful and quiet and the staff can't do enough for you. The rooms aren't the height in luxury - but, are clean and tidy - and who sits in their room anyway?!? Its excellent value for money and the milkshakes, Brandy Sours and Mojitos are to die for. The food is fine - no complaints there - and I'd go back in a heart beat!... more
We stayed for the last 2 weeks in July and was very impressed by the cleanlines of our room and the peaceful time we spent during the day enjoying the sunshine in the well tended gardens. There were always plenty of sun beds provided and we found a spot where we were not overlooked and could read our books without any continuous noise as sometimes happens in hotels by the pool. The food provided for breakfast was very good which accounts for a few pounds weight gain as there was more than enough... more
Pia Bella is a nice hotel. We stayed for one week B&B - lots of places to eat around and only about a 15 minute walk to the harbour. In our room the safe needed repairing and we were told we couldn't have two card keys but otherwise the room was a good size and clean. The pools were good and the hotel never seemed crowded. There are no beaches that you could walk to though. We hired a car for three days from the man next door for £20 per day for a small car with air con - a bargain! We had a great... more
We stayed over 2 weeks, but met some regular visitors (British) who were staying a month or more. The Pia Bella has a large and well maintained, clean garden and pool complex. It is reasonably central, with about a 20 minute walk to the Old Harbour area of Kyrenia, or a cheap taxi ride. More locally there are several fine restaurants and cafes, but these took us a while to discover as locations are not obvious. The so called "Old Turkish Quarter," about half way between the Pia Bella and the Old... more
This hotel is in a great location - perfect for exploring Kyrenia and local restaurants. the rooms are kept very clean, the staff are most helpful and the two pools are fantastic. The garden bar is a great place to relax after dinner and I would definitely stay here again. Our air con developed a leak and a technician visited the same day to fix it! We were also given two key cards so we could leave it running in the evening and come back to a lovely cool room! The breakfast buffet was enormous... more
Stayed 10 days in Deluxe room which was very clean and spacious, with lovely balcony overlooking gardens. Hotel clean throughout and pool and garden areas excellent. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, but ample choice and good quality food for that meal. The hotel is situated just 10 min walk from the old harbour, with good paved walk, although a little uneven in places. Ample choice of restaurants around the hotel immediate area, as well as an abundance in the area of the harbour. Would... more
Pia Bella is in an excellent location and has lovely grounds. It is kept very clean. Majority of staff are very friendly but some seem to have become complacent toward tourists. We stayed at this hotel 6 years ago in a standard room and were pleased with everything, so we decided to return but treat ourselves to a de-luxe room. The only difference was that the room was a little larger and we did have a better view. When we arrived, one of the balcony chairs was broke, we reported it and it... more
We returned recently from 14 days at the Pia Bella Hotel in Kyrenia (Girne) in North Cyprus, flying from Exeter to Larnaca in 4.5 hours and then by taxi to the hotel which took about 1 hr 20mins, all included when travelling with 'Go North Cyprus'. We arrived at about 2am in the morning and were immediately asked if we would like something to eat and/or a complementary drink, which was most welcome. We had only booked B&B and so were most surprised to be given meal vouchers for evening meals –... more
From the moment that we stepped through the door they couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, with the maid coming in every day, There was always a waiter available, which were pleasant and in good humour. The food was good, with a varied of selection but always included a chicken dish, fish and a vegetarian choice. the pool are was clean with plenty of sunbeds, umbrellas and pool towels, I really cannot fault it, many thanks for a great stay!... more
Its just a friendly, welcoming hotel, the reviews say it all, we really enjoyed our second visit back to the Pia Bella, the staff were helpful, always smiling & very hard working, the pool / gardens were immaculate, food - we only had one meal in the hotel as we booked B&B basis but there was plenty of choice to sort all taste,s. Our room was basic but very clean, we asked for extra pillows & coat hangers which were sent up straight away, altogether a very enjoyable stay in a great location.Hope... more
The hotel is well situated and in walking distance of the scenic harbour, there are also plenty of amenities nearby. The Hotel is clean and well run with the rooms of a good standard for the price. In terms of food and drink prices (if you are not full board they are reasonable and comparable with outside bars). The grounds and pools are first rate and there were usually enough sunbeds etc. for all. Breakfast is not really geared towards the British tastes and you have to pay extra for proper orange... more
This was our second visit to Kyrenia and Pia Bella and it didn't disappoint. Friends came with us and liked the hotel as much as we did. The restaurant and bar staff are particularly friendly and good fun! The gardens and pool area are the big feature as you lie and relax on the sun loungers whilst in the shade of trees - often necessary in the heat of Northern Cyprus!! The only drawback for us is the position of the hotel as it is a good 15 minute walk down to the harbour area of Kyrenia -... more
We stayed in a deluxe room which was very comfortable and quiet. The wi-fi worked in the room although a bit slow. There are two pools and a nice garden area to sit/lie in. Breakfast was Ok but a bit bland, dinner was a buffet and normal for a holiday hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The walk to the harbour where there are plenty of restaurants is about 20 minutes and taxis are cheap if you don't want to walk. Kyrenia is a pleasant town, less commercialised than in the south and there... more
. The grounds/pools are lovely and the garden staff work hard tidying every morning.Breakfast was really good we only had B&B because we liked to walk into town(15/20 mins) so can"t comment on the food otherwise. Kyrenia harbour area is great restaurants bars etc. Bellapais abbey is beautiful for an early evening trip and meal at sunset. The rooms have everything you need and are beautifully cleaned every day. The beds are Ok the pillows not great and the towels thin and small but that is our only... more
I am a wheelchair user and found that the hotel was generally easy to use, particularly with respect to access and mobility. If you do experience difficulty with a long or slightly steep ramp the staff will immediately provide assistance. There are disabled toilets in public areas but they are a little small. The lifts are small so excercise caution if you have a larger chair. There are some rooms with dedicated disability facilities and staff will be pleased to discuss and help you with these.The... more
My husband and I go to north Cyprus four times a year and we normally stay with friends so this was the first time we have stayed in a hotel , we chose the pia Bella as we knew it was close to everything and what a perfect choice it was , the hotel was fabulous , it was spotlessly clean and as for the staff especially in the bar and restaurant area were absolutely fantastic ,we had a wonderful holiday so no more staying with friends , we are already looking to book for next year .keep up the good... more
This was my first holiday to North Cyprus. I was looking for a chilled out, relaxing holiday and that is exactly what Pia Bella hotel provided. From the initial welcome when arriving in the middle of the night to having to leave at the end of the holiday, the staff were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Although the hotel is on a relatively busy road, once you are in the grounds you could be miles away, with well maintained gardens and pool areas. The room was very clean and... more
we arrived late on a Friday and the staff had kept us our dinner, as we were half board. we were impressed by that. quite welcoming staff on reception, though the porter was a bit odd. the room was fairly old fashioned, and in need of renovation. the bathroom had poorly applied grout around the top of the tiles. the balcony was lovely. the beds were uncomfortable, hard yet unsupportive. the air con was not very efficient.the view from the room was beautiful, swimming pool and gardens, palm... more
My family and I have just returned for our only holiday of the year. We chose North Cyprus as a refreshing change from the norm and were so pleasantly surprised that we've talked about returning. We stayed in the Hotel Pia Bella which is situated in the old part of Kyrenia, a walk away from its beautiful harbour side. It's advertised as a small hotel but we didn't think it was particularly small- more like a normal hotel abroad. The food at the Hotel Pia Bella was excellent. There was a great mix... more
I stayed at the Pia Bella hotel with my mum, with the intention of having a relaxing, un disturbed break away to the sun...and this is exactly what we had! The hotel was situated in a peaceful location amongst beautiful gardens creating a tranquil setting perfect for relaxation and quiet time out. The staff were exceptional, no request was seen as too much trouble and any queries we had were dealt with on the spot. Everyone was friendly and chatty showing interest in how u were enjoying your holiday.... more
I have been a visitor to North Cypus for the last 7 years, this was my 3rd time at the Pia Bella but the last time was 4 years ago. The hotel is nice and clean but the rooms need updating the TV's are ones that I would have binned years ago, the curtains and bed throws need to be more colourful, the rooms were nicely painted but the tiles and curtains in the bathroom need updating. The grounds are well kept and the maid service is good, keeping the rooms and corridors clean and tidy, the staff are... more
I find it difficult to believe I have stayed at the same hotel after reading some of the comments on your reviews. I can honestly say that the food from day one was poor, very bland and generally overcooked. Finally ate out in the evenings and still have quite a few dinner vouchers left. The promised Wifi only worked in the garden and could take up to 15 minutes to download an email., remembering this is 2014 and after complaining to different people everyday for the first week (yes, I endured two... more
Had a superior room which was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The air conditioning could have been a bit more efficient. The swimming pools were very clean and the gardens very pleasant. As it was very hot it was nice to be able to shelter from the sun under the trees. Plenty of sunbeds which were comfortable and was supplied with towels. Reading previous reviews we were a little concerned about the food but could not fault it. At breakfast the chef cooked eggs to perfection whether... more
This was our second visit in successive years. Little has changed except some building work and a casino. We found everything exactly as we had left it last June and were extremely happy about that. It`s location is perfect for exploring and a hire car was the way for us. There are a number of ways to travel round the Island none of which are overly expensive. The staff are excellent friendly and eager to please without making you feel awkward. The rooms were more than adequate for our needs and... more
Lovely hotel with great outdoor space consisting of 2 pools and extensive garden. Also good garden bar area ,with lots of seating. We stayed in a room overlooking pool and gardens, also a lovely view of the mountains.Excellent staff, very friendly and always served you with a smile!Location to Harbour 20 mins walk. Good choice of restaurants/bars. Bella Pias monastery worth a visit, beautiful quaint village with plenty... more
Nice hotel, the food could be better, would have liked more meat like chops and steaks, the salads were boring. The " head waiter" had his favourites amongst the guests we were not one of them. he continually ignored us when we wanted a drink at dinner. he would ask people next to us is they were alright but not us. The only time he showed us any notice was on our penultimate day, perhaps he was after a tip!Facilities were good although getting on wi fi was almost non existent.... more
Had a deluxe room overlooking the gardens and pool. Good standard room of Turkish styling.Cleaned every day with fridge, plasma TV and small balcony. A bit of a cheek asking to pay for the small safe though! However do not book a room at the front of the hotel which is next to a busy road. We used one of these rooms to change before we were picked up to return to the airportFood was good generally. Breakfast was average, but the selection of food for dinner was excellent and couldn't we fault it.Drinks... more
We stayed for 1 week at the end of May 2104 and booked a Superior Room. We were advised that the room was in fact a De Luxe and so it seems we were upgraded. The room was tired however cleaned every day.The food variety and quality was not great and we did eat out a great deal for very low costs. The bar drinks were inexpensive given the value of the £ against the Turkish Lire. We wouldn't stay here again and we do visit N Cyprus every year.... more
My husband and I booked a delux room and were not disappointed. It was very spacious with a full size fridge and was situated above the outdoor eating area with great views. The staff at the hotel were very good nothing was too much trouble. There is free wifi on the ground floor and if you havent got your own there is a computer that you can use free of charge. You can book your seat and check in for your return journey and they will print it out for you.We arrived late at the hotel and were given... more
I've just come back from a great half term break with my children, staying at the Pia Bella Hotel. It was a really lovely hotel and comparable with any other hotel we've stayed in when abroad. Our room at the Pia Bella was towards the back of the hotel. Although we didn't have an amazing view, it was incredibly spacious for a family room and had all conveniences you'd expect. The room was kept very clean and décor and furnishings were of a good standard. The facilities in the hotel were perfect for... more
My husband and i have just returned home after our visit to the Pia Bella Hotel we were treated by the staff on arrival with a friendly hand shake, and a very warm welcome. Having stayed at this hotel previously, we were looking forward to similar standards, unfortunately this was not the case. On arrival we found soiled bed linen and a blockage in the bath waste pipe.Overall cleanliness was below the expected standard. We travelled with friends, air conditioning in their room was not working for 3 days despite numerous requests, eventually the a/c unit was replaced after the manager was involved. They also had problems with a leaking bath waste which flooded the bathroom.It... more
My husband and I stayed at the Pia Bella during the last week of April. We arrived at 9.45 pm and after checking in were shown to the restaurant for a very welcome meal. Our room was very comfortable and overlooked the pool, and there were plenty of loungers and other outdoor seating areas. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice though we only had dinner there twice as we like to go out and about and try different restaurants. There were a couple of things we were disappointed with. On two... more

Needing a break, the Pia Bella was a great choice for my family and myself. The hotel is really first class and the room was of a good size for the 3 of us. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the choice of food each evening was first class. Anything we needed to know about the local area the staff were always on hand and give us good informative information. The whole package deal was not the cheapest but was worth paying a little extra knowing now how smooth they made our stay. Highly recommended... more
We upgraded to delux room but were shocked to find ourselves in a room overlooking a petrol filling station and car wash. There was a balcony but who would want to sit on it in the evening having a 'sundowner' before evening meal. This has always been our usual practice. The room was not acceptable and to our delight we were moved to the rear of the hotel overlooking the garden and pool. This was not just a better room but we felt we were in a much superior hotel. From then on all was great,room... more
This was my family's second stay in North Cyprus and the second time we'd booked through www.gonorthcyprus. We find them so helpful in suggesting hotels which suit the needs of their customers. This, however, was the first time we'd stayed at the Pia Bella and we were really impressed. Our hotel room was fantastically well equipped, with a really cold fridge! We loved that our room had a balcony too. We'd read from some reviews that others had found their room to be noisy because of the streets outside... more
Good hotel, clean, comfortable rooms (we chose superior room). Restaurant offered buffet style meals. We had a two week stay at the Pia Bella Hotel in Oct/Nov. 2013. The staff at the Hotel cannot do enough for you and made our stay very enjoyable. We would stay again the next time we visit Cyprus. There are two excellent swimming pools in the Hotel one of which caters for the disabled. The Hotel is situated within walking distance of the lovely... more
I've just come back from a two week family holiday at the fantastic Pia Bella hotel, Kyrenia and am already discussing with my husband how we can save to go back next year! Our holiday was a typical beach holiday, but the hotel made it that bit special. The hotel grounds and décor were beautiful, with lots of space to lounge around the pool areas. It is also set in a brilliant location- it's in the main town area so everything you need is just a walk away. Our hotel room was everything we needed... more
I've just come back from a week staying at the Pia Bella hotel, Kyrenia, and had a fantastic holiday! Having read all the reviews for this hotel I was unsure whether I would like it or not. Arrived at the hotel at around 9.00pm, to find that they did not have a room for us. As long as we had somewhere to sleep for the night I was not too bothered. We were allocated a room in the original block facing onto the road which was very noisy, however we had something to eat and then went to sleep. Next morning we were taken across to block 2 to our deluxe room. Could not fault the room at all, if... more

This isn't the first time my girlfriend has dragged me to the Pia Bella in Kyrenia, and although I make out I'm too busy to drop work for a week, I'm actually thrilled this is the one North Cyprus hotel she seems drawn back to time and time again! The Pia Bella is a great place for everybody to stay, be it families, couples or even singles – assuming you're not looking for a party central kind... more
My wife and I spent 14 days at the Pia Bella Hotel. We had a lovely room overlooking the garden which was requested by me when booking. The rooms all looked very tired (although very clean). We went half board and the food was ok for a week .The hotel is a 15min walk to the... more
I'd like to say the welcome ,we received was very surprising. as it was so late in the eveningsandwiches, and soup pluss a nice glass of wine before we were showed our room by reception , who also carred our cases for us.We did have a problem with our first room , which we were in for a couple of days, The shower room was designed for a wheelchair (we do not need wheel chairs) but i dont think the the shower ,was wet room designed, as we spent lots of time clearing up the water, the view from the... more
We were met punctually at airport and taken to the hotel by taxi. We were warmly greeted with a cup of tea whilst our cases were taken to our room. We were told we had been upgraded to a junior suite (we had booked a deluxe garden room). We were very disappointed to see that although this was a lovely suite we looked directly over the top of a garage roof, where workmen were repairing the roof, and the main road. In the morning we complained to Sarah the room allocation manager explaining we had... more
We stayed for a week on 7 October. The hotel, its staff, gardens and 2 pools are great. The weather in October is lovely, high 20s and warm at night. Breakfast and dinner was out on the terrace - lovely and no insects, (but the odd cat!). The staff are young, enthusiastic, helpful, professional and good fun; they make the hotel. The rooms are good, however, unless you get a pool and gardens view, the views are not good, main road, sports pitch, car par, garage and the balconies are small. The... more
This was the first time we had been to Northern Cyprus, but our friends have been several times and always say how good it was so we decided to join them for a 10 day stay at the Pia bella hotel, travel, hotel & transfers all booked through Go northCyprus.First - excellent service from go North Cyprus, booking confirmed and able to book my seat on the flight within 24hours of making the booking. Our flight was delayed by 2 hours (fault of thomas Cook) but even though it was nearly mid-night when... more
Very good hotel, food of high class restaurant standard, staff very helpful and professional. Room was large with balcony and had great view of mountains including Hilarion Castle. The grounds are large with plenty of room to lounge on sun beds without invading other people's privacy. We never suffered from 'towels' on loungers with no-one on them. The swimming pools were clean and never crowded. If you wanted to swim 'lengths' there was no problem. Price of drinks were cheaper than on the sea... more
This was our 2nd time to the Pia Bella. Lovely hotel, they can't do enough for you. We are in our 60s - it is probably one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Staff are great, they all seem to be happy! We will definitely go back. Nice rooms, grounds very nice, food very good, plenty of choice. Just a very pleasant chill out zone. Can't wait to go back!Lyn & Colin from Gloucester... more
Booked the holiday via "gonorthcyprus" and experienced few issues. We travelled from Stansted to Larnaca on a mid-afternoon flight with Thomson Airways and were met at Larnaca airport by our desginated taxi driver. Within 75 minutes we had crossed into Northern Cyprus and were at the Pia Bella Hotel reception, Even though it was now around 11.00 p.m. we were shown to a dining table and offered an evening meal together with a complimentary drink. A while later we returned to Reception and were shown... more
This is our fourth time staying in Northern Cyprus but the first time we've stayed here at the Pia Bella Hotel. It's a friendly, welcoming and a small hotel which offers a relaxed atmosphere in an ideal environment for family and friends. It's located with a ten minute walking distance from Kyrenia Harbour, not far from Kyrenia Castle. There are several beaches and shops located nearby the Pia Bella , but if you don't enjoy the sand and seawater so much, this hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and... more
The Pia Bella Hotel is a friendly, welcoming and a small hotel which offers a relaxed atmosphere in an ideal environment for family and friends. We have just returned from a relaxing week at the Pia Bella. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and found it a great location. It was about a 15 minute walk down to the harbor. Everyone was very helpful, car hire through the hotel was easy. The staff work very hard and long days but were always smiling and ready to help. There are two pools with sunbeds around but we preferred to use the sunbeds in the garden under the various fruit trees there. The staff don't forget you there, they came to see if... more
Arrived at the hotel Pia Bella from Ercan airport in a package for a wedding which was arranged for us by GoNorthCyprus.Basically where to start with the superlatives? from the transfer waiting via air-conditioned Mercedes splendor and the politest driver ever to the immaculate hotel and its amazing friendly staff i cannot fault it....my only moan - and it will annoy all those reading in the rain at home.... too much Sun!!!! In short a truly fantastic break, we WILL be back and we will definitely... more
We found the Pia Bella Hotel rooms to be clean but a little old fashioned. The Pool & Bar area was excellent. The staff were friendly & very helpful. The Hotel was about a good 10 - 15mins walk to the bars & shops. Overall a nice hotel would stay there again. The staff were good fun & could tell they enjoyed there jobs. Think the hotel maybe a family run business, not sure.Rooms a good size, could do with be modernised. Although had everything we needed in them.... more
Really enjoyed our stay at the Pia Bella. However our first night we had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking a Garage with lots of old tyres on the roof. We complained and were told to see Sarah. She was able to move us to a smaller but still a quite large room with a fantastic view over the two pools and lovely gardens. We found the staff really helpful, and although not in the best position in Kyrenia we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Pia Bella and would certainly stay there agai... more
I first visited Kyrenia last year and only managed to leave it a few months before returning! The Pia Bella Hotel was recommended by a friend and I can understand why. The superior room was lovely, the service was faultless and the staff were so attentive and catered for my every need.At the back of the hotel are two pools that are extremely clean and surrounded by beautiful gardens that are very well kept. The weather was incredibly hot but it was easy to find shade under the citrus trees and... more
our second stay at this hotel, the staff remembered me. 1st time for my husband and we will def be going back the gardens are lovely pools are clean staff continually check you have everything you need with a big smile. They actually make you feel like a valued guest not a tourist. Lots of choice at breakfast and plenty of it. this hotel is oasis, it looks nothing special from the front but a beautiful tranquil calm awaits... more
We were upgraded to a DeLuxe room which was good but not DeLuxe for a 4* hotel. It was clean, plenty of room and we got a bath as we had asked for.Get a room overlooking the garden or pool if possible as some overlook the main road. The breakfast was adequate but we only had bacon twice and you have to ask if you want a fried egg. The evening meal was also only adequate but as we were upgraded fron B&B to half boerd at no cost, we can't be critical. The gardens and pools are excellent and the staff... more
The Pia Bella is still one of the best hotels to stay in Girne,in my opinion, but standards are slipping. The rooms at the front of the hotel are dated and noisy. The service at breakfast has been reduced and everything is self service now, the menu has not changed for two years and the silly pool card policy which has been introduced is just another blow to this hotels reputation.Don't get me wrong I loved my stay there but within 12 months I have seen the standard slip.... more
Pia Bella Hi all, I would'nt normally take the time to complete reviews of my holiday destination but I felt this time it was only fair to share the experience for others to benefit from. I went to Northern Cyprus last month to visit relatives who have invited me over for the past 10 years! I called up a company called GoNorthCyprus and met a really cheerful woman called Sue who talked me through my requirements and arrangements. She helped me pick the hotel and I ended up at the Pia Bella Hotel,... more
I was left with mixed feelings after staying at the Pia Bella in northern Cyprus. We had never been to Cyprus before, so we were completely unsure of what to expect really- in terms of the reception of tourists by locals as well as the nature of the culture there and the standard of living. We booked on a recommendation through a travel company called Gonorthcyprus and actually found it one less thing to worry about! On arrival we found the country to be beautiful and the locals extremely welcoming,... more
Our stay at the Pia Bella was fantasic, the hotel is of high quality, the staff are very welcoming, and the food was great lot of chose.Even if this was noting on the menu you did not like they would cook sometime for you.Sarah who is one of the managers was always asking about your stay, and if you had any complains, which is in these days not heard of, she was wonderful.Al that I can say to all of you out there have a great stay at this hotel.John Giles... more
The deal that we got was through gonorthcyprus holiday company and was pretty great value; I thought I would mention that first. Ok, so my wife and I booked this special deal online for the 4 star Pia Bella hotel. The only thing I have to complain about was that our room was supposed to be an upgrade and it didn't appear that way when we got there. The room was of a good size, it wasn't immaculate but it was clean enough. The beds were very comfortable and the bedding was clean, the air conditioning... more
We got an amazingly cheap deal that far exceeded our expectations for a post christmas break. We opted to use GoNorthCyprus.com for our booking as we've used them previously and it went very well indeed. The reservations manager is a pleasant and cheerful woman who had a lot of local knowledge and placed us in a great hotel for our needs. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful; even though the rooms were basic there wasn't anything that we had to ask for. We stayed for two weeks at the beginning... more
We stayed at Pia Bella over Christmas for one week, we booked superior double but a bit dissapointed TV out of date, as well as tiny air con unit, mini bar was not checked as we found someone ha drank the beers and refilled the bottles with water. The room was ok but not enough beddings one sheet and a blanket, no duvet, the view was nice but balcony small. The food was average to poor, a gala dinner was supplied for Christmas Eve but the staff did not perform well most of the food was cold and really... more
Our initial impression was not good due to the rather curt and most unwelcoming receptionist that we have come across for a long time.In spite of booking a double superior room, we were given a twin bedded room which, in fairness was clean and spacious. We were disappointed with the organisation, or lack of, in the dining room. Lots of staff all running around with no apparent system which left us waiting for some 15 minutes before we received any attention at all. Thereafter, things got better and... more
Having been recommended by several people we were so looking forward to Christmas at the Pia Bella. Oh how dissapointed we were when we arrived! We were greeted by a most unhelpful receptionist to check-in, following this we were taken to our rooms, one deluxe double and one standard single. The deluxe double was situated overlooking the petrol station on the main road so we immediately asked to be moved! We were told sorry we do not have any double bedded rooms with nicer views, you can only have... more
The one sentence says it all really. The staff are all wonderful and cannot do enough for you. The rooms are very good very clean and maid service efficient. The only thing negative I can think to mention is the one Chef who carved or served every night during our stay. He was totally miserable. Not rude, but by contrast to all the other happy smiling staff he just stood as being a grump. We have been there twice now and will probably be returning again.... more
This was my third visit to the Pia Bella and once again I enjoyed the hospitality offered by all who work in this delightfull hotel.During my stay 2nd/23rd november I hired a car for three days from the Hotel and drove up the coast road towards Kaplica, Kantara village ,villages that were off the beaten track in order to get the feeling of the true Cypriot life and hospitality,my only regret I did,nt get far enough up the pan handle to see the donkeys, maybe next year.As always my stay at the Pia... more
I had a lovely time at the Pia Bella with my family - totally relaxing in their beuatiful gardens which was just what the doctor ordered even in 40 degree heat. Unfortunately I had put my mobile phone in a drawer as I'd been unable to use it and linadvertently eft it behind when we returned to UK. Since this was a family run hotel with staff that couldn't have done enough for us during our visit, this did not worry me. Apparently there is no crime in Northern Cyprus so, when I rang the hotel... more
My sister and i have just returned from our holiday and I just want to make you aware of the very disappointing start. We arrived at the hotel at 10pm only to be told that they didn't have a room for us. After our meal we were then transferred to a very inferior hotel ( the Kyrenia Teachers Hotel) It was incredibly shabby and when we came to take our medication we couldn't even find a glass let alone a bottle of water. My sister was directed to a local supermarket to purchase some water. During... more
This was the first time we had visited Northern Cyprus and we chose the Pia Bella based on the reviews we read before booking. We were not disappointed, the hotel grounds were beautiful, staff very friendly, cheerful and helpful. We booked bed & breakfast, so can not comment on the evening meal but we were provided with a good selection at breakfast and could eat as much (or as little) as we wanted. Our room was a good size we booked a deluxe room, the only criticism would be the view, we overlooked... more
brilliant freindly staff, very clean rooms had everything provided. great food quality & quantity, good location an oasis in a busy area. not over priced drinks. Been home 4 weeks already booked to go back next year. two pools with plenty of sun loungers and beautiful gardens made this one of the most relaxing holidays. Taxi's were a good price, a safe place to visit, a must is the turtle beach if you go in the evening you carry a turtle to the sea! The staff helped me arrange this, they also arranged... more
Lovely hotel, has everything one needs, lovely pools, friendly staff, nothng is too much trouble, what more can I say, this year was our sixth visit, and there will be more. The only thing that could be improved is the amount of entertainment of an evening. Very limited this year, whereas other years they had something going on most evenings. Incidentally, we stay b & b and not full board and I understand from others that the food is not too good of an evening.... more
We have stayed in this hotel on several occassions. The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. The roooms are very clean and there are always loads of toiletries. We booked a de-luxe room in the newer block. It was very spacious and had a balcony with table and 2 chairs. Everything was clean and serviced every day. The pools were excellent with towels for everyone and lots of grass to spread out on with shade as well. We were only B&B, but the breakfast was good.Broadband access was free, but you had to go in the reception area to get a connection. The walk to town was about 10 minutes, 15 into the harbour. We stayed at the Hotel Pia Bella recently and found it to be a wonderful place to stay. We upgraded to a superior room, which afforded us a magnificent view of the North Cyprus mountains. I was really impressed with our room. It was extra large, and sparkling clean, right down to the shower drain. Our room also contained a safe for valuables and the hotel employee who showed us to our rooms made sure to show us how to operate it before leaving. We'd arrived late in the evening and after checking... more
We stayed at the Hotel Pia Bella recently and I was immediately impressed. We'd arrived late at night after a long flight to north cyprus and both my husband and I were exhausted, but realizing we had arrived after the dining room was closed, expected that we would have to find a restaurant still open in order to get something to eat. Immediately after checking in, we were asked if we were hungry and were shown to the dining room, where we were served a late supper and given a complimentary beverage.... more
We had a lovely holiday at the Pia bella. The room was lovely and clean, as was everywhere else in the hotel. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. The food was really good. We have never stayed half board before because we like to try different places but we ended up eating there every night because it was so nice. As for the breakfasts, everything you could want. It was a nice 15minute walk to Kyrenia harbour too. Definitely going again... more
My friend and i were impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff from the moment we arrived. The hotel was very well kept pool areas and rooms were immaculate. we enjoyed the food so much we didn't bother eating anywhere else! The drinks especially the wine were good value for money and the service second to none. we met some great people who said they had stayed many times before and if we were ever in north Cyprus again the pia bella is where we'd stay!... more
Really nice hotel at walking distance of the harbour (+/- 15 to 20 minutes), nice breakfast and above all you can eat outside, wonderful garden with a lot of nice places in the shade to sit. Halfboard is worth the money. Free parking is very available.Only small black spot of our stay, but this is not the hotel's fault, a very drunk English women was screaming part of the night from the balcony of the room next to ours.... more
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff, helpful and the grounds are just beautifully kept. Probably the best breakfast in Kyrenia, as there is such a vast choice. It will certainly stay in the memory bank for a long time.Next time, we will try for the middle building to stay, as it appears not to have the same road noise as the front of the hotel. We live in the South of Cyprus, so it easy for us to travel to Kyrenia where there is a lot of choice when it comes to hotels etc. The excellent new... more
Enjoyed the hotel: clean rooms, good service, good meals. Convenient location and parking. Pools and gardens are nicely taken care of. I would recommend this hotel, and surely we will stay again in the future. Only down side was wifi in the room. In public areas wifi was working, but our room did not have the coverage. We stayed at a room far away from the main street in front of the hotel main entrance. Our room was very quite, enjoyable.... more
We stayed here for a week and really enjoyed our stay. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the rooms very clean. We had a free upgrade on our room plus dinner as it was out of season. We couldn't find anything to complain about. The pia Bella is well worth a visit. We drove to the Pia Bella from Southern Cyprus. Parking was easy and the staff in reception were friendly and very helpful. The room was lovely clean; modern and very well appointed. We especially liked having a kettle in the room for the early morning cuppa!Centrally located it was a level 10 minute walk (for us) to Girne so drinking and driving after a night out was never a problem. Car parking was adequate. The gardens and pool are lovely and as it was early in the year, we did not use the pool... more
The holiday was good value primarily because of low off season charges, especially free half board upgrade. However for the first five days the dinner offerring was very indifferent. Mediocre quality, little imagination, overcooked vegetables, served lukewarm. When guest numbers increased the full buffet offerring meant more choice. If I had been paying for the dinner I would have been very dissappointed. Maybe overall they are better in high season -but then so will be prices. The rooms are a little... more
We stayed at Pia Bella between 8th-11th February 2011. We (two adults, no kids) really enjoyed our stay there. The hotel was well kept and the personnel was extremely friendly. The hotel had nice and relaxing atmosphere (no kids). The standard rooms were facing towards a busy street, which caused some traffic noice. Pool side rooms might be worth the extra fee.We had half board deal with breakfast and dinner, and both were fantastic. Food was very good and tasty. Orange juice was fresh sqeezed, taken... more
We booked in for three nights at the end of January for our 40th wedding anniversary. We had a free upgrade to a deluxe room but were told on arrival that these rooms were twin bedded, the only double bed room overlooked a run down garage so we agrreed to have two beds pushed together, not ideal. Our room was not overly warm during cool nights and we had to ring down to request a hot water supply. The food was OK considering what we paid. The saddest part of a winter stay at the Pia Bella is that... more
Nice hotel though for me the rating would be closer to 3* rather than 4*. Our drive to the hotel was a bit of a nightmare as the directions were wrong. It took us about two hours to get there. We got a room with two single beds instead of a double bed, which was disappointing, especially for a couple booking. Room Bar fridge very expensive for a 4*. Room was clean but a little tired - nothing spectacular. We had a good view of the mountains though which was nice. Location of hotel to city centre,... more

Aged 45 and 65, we stayed for a week at the end of Nov/Dec using the hotel as a base for family to join us for 3 days. We upgraded to a suite which was lovely and roomy, and not hugely more expensive. Go North Cyprus organised for the children and grand children to have ajoining rooms pool view, which worked well. I suggest going for pool view rooms as the road side ones are noisy and get no sun. Hotel grounds are great and value for money good, large beers 4.5 TL. evening meal poor. Iit's quite... more

We can't fault the service and it's a kind of second home we really look forward to visiting. We've got to know the staff like friends after coming here for so many years and they are... more
I have stayed in this hotel a few times, mainly due to its location and good value foor money off season.Regarding the review from Englishman and the transfer, he blames the different in price in the transfer from Larnaca to Kyrenia to the euro. The truth is that if you pre-book a taxi it is far cheaper, whereas he turned up and was let down for whatever reason and had to take the taxi at the airport. The same happens when you fly into Ercan airport in Northern Cyprs, if you have arranged a pick... more
My husband and I stayed at the Pia Bella outside of the peak season in November and were very impressed. As the weather wasn't always burning sunshine, we needed to spend more time in the hotel and were very happy to do so! The only disappointment we had with the room was the fact that it had a faint smell of smoke, however when we complained, the hotel... more

Firstly I would like to thank the people of Kyrenia for their warm welcome, they were invariably helpful, polite and hospitable all of which contributed to a fantastic holiday. The JourneyFlight to Larnaca (southern Cyprus)…uneventful and on time. We had a lovely holiday at the Pia Bella hotel, and very much enjoyed our first visit to North Cyprus. The hotel staff made us feel very welcome, and if you ever had a problem, a young lady would come around at breakfast and sort it out. The staff were very happy to help us with booking taxis, as many drivers spoke only a little English. Our room was very clean, and we had a nice view of... more
My fiancée and I stayed at the Pia Bella at the beginning of this month and had an amazing time. We decided to upgrade to a superior room as we were promised better views and more space. We definitely got what we were promised, and more. The room was more like a suite and the mountain views were stunning! We found the hotel to be in very good condition and it was exceptionally clean. We visited 10th - 17th May 2009 and this was our first stay at the Pia Bella on a B & B basis.Beautiful room but the view from the balcony was over the road. A lovely hotel for a winter break, easily walkable into Kyrenia town and the harbour area, and local shops. Reception ordered us a meal on arrival, impressive as it was late, and were helpful with our luggage, etc. Room was neat, very clean and warm at night, and overlooked pool. This is the first time I spent the winter away from the UK, and it won't be the last. I can honestly say spending the winter in Kyrenia is money well spent. I avoided all the winter bugs that my friends back home had, met some lovely friends at the Pia Bella Hotel and had a wonderful travel experience.Although Kyrenia is not hot in January (it was around 60F, 15C when I was there) but the sun shone every day. The Pia Bella is probably mainly a summer hotel, as when we went in late November, it had a rather tired feel. it was also full with a UK tour group of small we say advanced years, which was obviously good for their business but not so good for the general buzz and atmosphere! The staff were friendly enough, but not exceptional, and being asked every morning if everything was OK got very tiring.Breakfast was OK, but judging from other reviews, probably not as varied as in the summer. We ate out... more
It's hard to fault the Pia Bella, as it's a 3 star hotel that thinks its four star! After arriving late from the airport we were offered a drink and a snack, and the staff were very welcoming. Our room was light and airy with a pretty mountain view, and very clean. Breakfast on the terrace in the sunshine was a real treat and the gardens always offered some shade somewhere. We're not ones to sit by the pool all day, so we walked into Kyrenia a couple of times (hot, dusty and tricky due to the broken... more
We have never been to North Cyprus before, but were utterly charmed by the country we saw and the people we met there. The Pia Bella was not our first choice of hotel, but in the end was probably better than our original choice. The hotel has an old Colonial look from the front but inside it's a modern hotel with all the facilities you'd expect. The staff made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, and the young maid who cleaned our room every day was always smiling. Our meals at the Pia... more
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Pia Bella Hotel for seven days. Our flight did not arrive until evening, yet we still found hotel staff to be available to check us in when we arrived. They also took us to the dining room where we obtained hot soup and sandwiches. The staff was very knowledgeable about the area, offering us advice on what to do. Being young we wanted to get in as much as possible of the Kyrenia area. The staff even talked us into taking a ride to some of the surrounding areas.... more
My girlfriend and I arrived late in the evening at the Pia Bella Hotel. We were greeted with welcoming smiles and an offer of food. Being late we decided food was a great idea. We had the dining room mostly to ourselves, and as a first romantic night it was perfect. When we arrived in our rooms it was big and clean. It took until the next day to realise we had a mountain view. For the first day we sat around the two pools, had a few drinks, and enjoyed a walk through the garden. We found you... more
For anyone thinking of going to North Cyprus, I can recommend this hotel wholeheartedly. The owners and staff make your stay a wonderful experience and nothing is too much trouble. Being a family run business makes a big difference, and we noticed that many guests were returning for their third and fourth time. When we arrived, the hotel had already given us a free upgrade to a superior room as they were not full. It was a beautiful big room with modern furniture and a spotlessly clean wood floor.... more
