My boyfriend and I stayed at the Manolya Hotel for a week recently. We had a lovely out of season break, which we found via the gonorthcyprus website. We had a nice room that was spacious and clean with lots of cosy pillows. The staff were polite and friendly. Very attractive pool area and beautiful sea views, I didn't brave the water at this time of year though. I also had a wonderful massage at the hotel and we really enjoyed the pancakes at breakfast, delicious! We took the bus into Girne cheaply... more
My wife and I have just returned from a break at the Manolya, which we booked through GoNorthCyprus.com. We really enjoyed our stay in a good sized clean, bright room, which had a wonderful view from the balcony and a comfortable bed. The rest of the hotel was clean and well kept with a pleasant smell. Breakfast was varied and tasty but could have been a bit hotter. Staff in the restaurant were very efficient and friendly. The food was a little limited at tea time but well-cooked nevertheless. We... more
We've just returned from a week at the Manolya Hotel and can safely say that we had an amazing time. Right from booking through gonorthcyprus to leaving the hotel we had a really fabulous time. We were made to feel so welcome by the staff, given a great room by the pool which was impeccably clean and cool, and enjoyed a plentiful and varied breakfast each morning. Handy supermarket just over the road that also changes money and some very good local restaurants like Fly Inn and Alvadar nearby. Cheap... more
The Manolya may be a little tired around the edges but it's a great place with efficient, friendly staff and a very pleasant ambience. I booked a week through gonorthcyprus.com for me and the wife and we got a very good deal. Our room was spotlessly clean and the view over the sea was stunning. Yes the decor needs touching up but really, this didn't affect our stay, which we really enjoyed. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the hotel but nowhere more so than in the dining room. The... more
If you're looking for somewhere clean, comfortable but not overly modern then the Manolya is a good choice. We got a really good price through specialist agent GoNorthCyprus.com, Gary arranged everything for us, even transfers, so we had nothing to worry about. The staff on reception were very friendly, in fact everyone who worked at the hotel was pleasant, even the cleaner. Our room wasn't the most modern but it was perfectly adequate and we had a great sea view. Easy to get around with public... more
We stayed for a week at the Manolya after getting a brilliant deal from gonorthcyprus and we wish we hadn't had to leave! What a wonderfully welcoming place this is, the owner and the staff cannot do enough to make their guests feel at home. The accommodation itself is clean, comfortable and cared for and the dining room is pleasant and serves a good, varied breakfast menu. The whole hotel is well kept and the staff clearly take a pride in what they do. Our room had a sea view and it was fairly... more
My husband and I booked a short break at the Manolya to spend a bit of quality time together and we weren't disappointed. For the price we got from gonorthcyprus, which included transfers, we were very impressed. The hotel has a wonderful coastal location and amazing views, we had a room with a sea view that was very well appointed and clean. Also a nice small balcony and tea and coffee facilities - just be aware that there is a charge if you use these. The staff are friendly and pleasant and we... more
My husband and I stayed at the Manolya recently on a break we booked with gonorthcyprus. This was our second visit and each time was just as great, very friendly and pleasant staff, hotel very clean and a lovely atmosphere, the difference this time is that the hotel has been renovated so is now very nicely finished and to a high standard. Our room had a sea view and was well appointed and always clean. Very nice pool area with lots of sun loungers and easy to reach the sea down the steps. We found... more
Booked a lovely break to the Manolya with gonorthcyprus for early March, just returned very relaxed and satisfied. Met by friendly staff on arrival who were very efficient with our booking. We had a clean and comfortable room, which was nicely decorated and welcoming with the added bonus of a superb sea view. Stayed half board and enjoyed the buffet breakfast every day, good variety and well cooked. There was some renovation going on at the hotel so the pool was not available to use but we travelled... more
I booked a rather last minute break at the Manolya recently to escape with the family for a bit and was really blown away by the place, Sue at GoNorthCyprus.com gave me all the details for the Manolya and it sounded too good to be true for the (very low!) price, but when we arrived, we found everything just as described. Really modern and relaxing rooms, very comfortable, and friendly staff, not to mention the amazing views of the sea and the mountains - just what we needed to unwind a bit before... more
Set right on the coast, the Manolya is a great hotel if you're on a budget. We booked through GoNorthCyprus.com and they arranged our transfers for us so we had a hassle-free break from start to finish. We found our room airy, bright and modern, and the staff were very friendly and helpful, giving us advice on the best places to explore. We enjoyed the choice at breakfast but ate out for the rest of our meals, so can't really comment on the lunch or dinner provisions. The hotel has a lovely setting... more
I've just got back from a fabulous off-season holiday to North Cyprus. We stayed in Lapta, Kyrenia, in a wonderful hotel called the Manolya Hotel. My partner got a fabulous deal from a website we found on Google- www.gonorthcyprus. We dealt with a really funny travel agent called Gary, who quickly built up a rapport with us as customers; this meant that he really understood what we were looking for in a holiday. Both my partner and I have quite anti-social jobs which makes it very hard for us to... more
My friend and I had a two night stay at the Manoyla Hotel, Lapta as part of our trip around North Cyprus. We stayed in a few other hotels while we were away but this one really stood out at us because it was the one we were least expecting to be good! We booked through the online agents www.gonorthcyprus.com and got an amazingly cheap deal at the Manoyla. It was meant to be a short stop gap so that we could explore the area around Lapta and we found it to be so good that we're considering bringing... more
I stayed at the Manolya Hotel in Cyprus in earlier this month. I arrived late in the evening, and so went directly to my room for some much needed sleep after the journey. Sadly this was not to be, as the walls in the Manolya are extremely thin and seem to carry sound a great distance. The result of this is that whenever anyone talks on your floor of the hotel you're able to hear it in your room. Obviously this is not a good thing when you're trying to sleep (especially on a business trip), so the... more
Myself and a few friends were desperate for a last minute trip away after some stressful times at work. We didn't have a great deal of money to spend so were looking for a cheap stay in a lovely place. After reading mixed reviews about the Manolya, we decided to take a punt. Our main reason was that Lapta looked like a lovely place and we also wanted to visit Kyrenia for its history. When we arrived at the Manolya, it didn't impress but it did what it said on the tin. It was a clean hotel with basic... more
I decided to take my kids away as a school holiday treat but like most families, we were on a budget! I'd heard that North Cyprus was cheaper than other resorts so decided to book the Manolya as it seemed to be reasonably priced and had enough facilities to amuse my eager children. Before I went I basically said to myself that even if the accommodation wasn't great, it was the break we would enjoy. However, I didn't need to worry, when we arrived, we were really impressed with the accommodation... more
Our room was very basic and rather shabby, but clean and comfortable. The staff are delightful, always pleasant and helpful, especially the receptionist. The room was supplied with a fridge and electric cooking rings but no cooking utensils or pans, which seems odd. Nice balacony with two plastic chairs and a lovely view of the mountains, and (if we craned our necks) the sea. Good basic breakfast, with bacon and eggs available for an extra 5 euros.... more
Hotel was not clean -cockroaches under the bed. The hotel badly needs updating. Bathroom was very smelly, Very poor lighting - not enough light to read by at night, curtains in holes in lobby. No games/video/tv/billiards room. No fire escapes or firefighting equipment except one small extinguisher on each landing. stained and torn towels in bathroom. Stained carpets. Without exception guests we spoke with had all asked for a change of room. Only saw about 20 other guests there at any time.... more
Due to the economic climate recently I was forced to look away from the usual suspects to choose a destination for our family holiday. We wanted something a little out of the norm but without spending too much and Europe seems to have gotten very expensive in recent times. Let's face it- you can go down the street at home to an English pub or a Macdonald's.We were very pleased with our stay at the Manolya, to the point where we are already making plans to return there for second visit, something... more
My friend and I come every year to Cyprus to escape the UK gloom. We read good reports of this hotel and were not disappointed. The staff made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived, always asked if we needed anything. Mehmet the manager seemed to be permanently on duty, always happy to help! Our room was clean and light, and we got fresh towels everyday. I was surprised to find we had a full size fridge too, not a small mini bar. The breakfast was continental style, although we both enjoyed... more
