“The Fantastic Pia Bella Hotel”
This isn't the first time my girlfriend has dragged me to the Pia Bella in Kyrenia, and although I make out I'm too busy to drop work for a week, I'm actually thrilled this is the one North Cyprus hotel she seems drawn back to time and time again! She's originally from Northern Cyprus and has family over here who we try and visit as often as we can. The Pia Bella is a great place for everybody to stay, be it families, couples or even singles – assuming you're not looking for a party central kind of place. One of the big things that always seems to stick out for me is the attitude of the staff. They're always so friendly and helpful, which isn't always the case in larger hotels in Europe. I even heard one of the waiting staff switch to German when taking an order from guests! Talking of orders, the food here is brilliant, we never bother to leave the hotel for evening meals as there's always something that takes our fancy and the chef here is great. Last time we visited Northern Cyprus the hotel was pretty quiet, but that wasn't a surprise at it was out of season. This time though we were lucky to get the room we wanted as it was packed! If there's one recommendation regarding rooms, it's be for you to definitely upgrade to a deluxe. While the standards are just fine, the deluxe rooms often have much more room and a great view, especially if you can angle to get a mountain view one. Even if you opt for a different standard room, try and avoid getting a room which is situated in the main block as the ambient noise from the road can be a little disturbing if you're a light sleeper or enjoying reading in quiet during the daytime. I have to mention that originally we used a booking agent found online called gonorthcyprus holidays and their rep Sue (or Susan?) was such a great help in making sure we were booking into a hotel in the right place for what it was we were looking for. I'd recommend using them if you want to cut the grief out of your hotel search and booking.
Liked — Great staff, great food, lovely grounds
Disliked — Be careful of rooms in the main block due to road noise
