My wife, daughter and I have just returned from Riverside Holiday Village having had a wonderful time. We decided to book an out of season break after reading the reviews on the gonorthcyprus website, and Gary in sales got us a good deal. We had a very well maintained room with plenty of storage, very clean and tea and coffee facilities too. We stayed at Riverside recently on a good value deal we found via the gonorthcyprus website. We had a pleasant room, a little dated but adds to the charm - the whole hotel has a rustic feel. Great swimming pools and high standard of cleanliness throughout the site, our towels were changed every day. There was quite a queue at the buffet at mealtimes so we would recommend using the a la carte restaurant instead, the food quality was better and there was less waiting. I took the wife and our two toddlers to Riverside Garden Resort for a cheap break in the sun. It's pretty basic but can't complain for the price we paid through gonorthcyprus.com, which even included transfers. Staff were pleasant and friendly and the accommodation was clean but minimal. Pool area and playground are great, the kids loved both, it's also nice to have so many trees on the site, gives it a more natural feel. Fun games room too. We took our grandchildren to Riverside Garden Resort on a break through gonorthcyprus after finding the company online. We got a good price and liked the look of the hotel as it seemed to be a good all round resort. Our room was clean and modern, looked like it had been recently renovated. We've just got back from a cheap break at Riverside, which we booked through GoNorthCyprus. We were after a decent place, nothing too fancy or expensive, and Gary in sales found us just what we wanted in Riverside. We booked a last minute trip to Riverside Holiday Village as we wanted to get away from the bad British weather and soak up a bit of sun, so we took the kids here for a bit of family fun. I'm very picky when it comes to holidays but I couldn't resist the Riverside Holiday Village when I saw the prices on the GoNorthCyprus website. I was a bit worried the price was too good to be true but Gary in sales reassured me that the costs were correct and gave me all the information I needed to make a decision. I was worried about coming here after reading some reviews. I gave the company a ring who I had booked through, Go North Cyprus, and they assured me they had received no bad reviews from this hotel and it had passed their own stringent inspection. they clean it every day, the stuff is very helpful, the place is lovely, everything was so good that i will remember for a long time. After moving hotels we were moved to Riverside! Our room was brand new very clean very comfortable nothing to fault. Large balcony. Although a bit far fromPools it was ok. Mandy was fantastic at organising a one night stay for a family of 5 in a villa at very short notice. We were half board and there was lots of food both for breakfast and evening meal and as it was self service you could have as much as you wanted which pleased my 3 hungry children, giving them a chance to try the local foods or opt for something they knew or was similar. Stayed here for two weeks with my wife and 14 year old son, also my daughter and her two young children. Pools (all three of them) were great, clean and just about enough sun-beds. All staff could not do enough for you, very attentive and helpful. Anytime there was a problem it was immediately and pleasantly dealt with. My husband and I stayed here for 2 weeks Apr/May 2013 and have never been to Northern Cyprus before. We needed a relaxing holiday after a hard winter and health problems for us both. Unfortunately my lasting memory of our stay at the Riverside was when we left the Bungalow for a taxi ride to Ercan Airport at 0530. The whole place was pitch black and I fell of the path into a garden losing my bags, suitcase, sunglasses and room key - how I didn't break my neck I shall never know. If you are thinking of booking this resort than whether you have a good or bad holiday will depend on the type of accommodation you are allocated on your arrival.We paud extra to have a superior room and still ended up with a bungalow straight from the 70s, clean but old and no mod cons at all.We did however see some of the lovely accommodation that other customers were staying in and had we been allocated one of those I would be writing a totally different review.We thought the location was fine... more
My wife and I spent about a week here at Riverside Holiday Village recently. This was not our first trip here and it won't be our last to north cyprus, as we love it here. Not once have we had any bad experiences, yet I read some not-so-nice reviews recently and decided to add my own review to balance it out somewhat. My family and I have just returned from our third stay at the Riverside Holiday Village in Kyrenia in North Cyprus. We have been really pleased with the hotel every time we've visited, which is the main reason for our continued custom. After reading reviews, we decided to book a superior villa on a self-catering basis, and we glad we did. As others have remarked on other review sites, the Village is super for kids, as the staff is very friendly and the pool perfect for younger kids in terms of swimming, although I saw mums and dads occasionally having to watch their step. This was our first visit to North Cyprus and we really enjoyed it. The hotel/resort was much nicer than I expected, and being the winter it was very quiet. Most of the tourists were older couples, like ourselves, and there were very few families with children.What we enjoyed were the gardens, the excellent half-board meals and the trips we booked from the hotel. The Riverside Holiday Village is good for anyone looking for a villa-style holiday but without the hassle! It is hard to write this review because some people might really like this kind of hotel, but it wasn't right for us at all. I was on holiday with my friends, and as soon as we arrived at the hotel it was clear that it was full of mostly families. The pool was nice but again, there were tons of noisy kids around. Our two week holiday in North Cyprus was hot, hot, hot, so we were really grateful for the swimming pools and aircon in our apartment. Villa was airy and light, with a very usable kitchen and was spotlessly cleaned every day. This is a children's hotel, no doubt about it. The pool is massive, and has a little aqua park with flumes which kept our two kids (7 and 9) entertained for hours each day (and tired them out so that they had an early night and my wife and I had a few hours alone each evening.)
