We've just returned from a break at Salamis Bay Conti Hotel, which we found on the gonorthcyprus website. We were pretty impressed with the reviews and spoke to Gary in sales about the hotel before booking, he was very knowledgeable and arranged everything for us, including transfers. The hotel is less than an hour from the airport and when we arrived we were welcomed by the staff and given a very comfortable room. We called reception and requested a kettle, which was quickly brought up. Our room... more

Salamis Bay is a nice hotel, a little tired here and there, but welcoming and well looked after by a team of efficient staff. We stayed for a week through gonorthcyprus and enjoyed our trip very much. The hotel is quite secluded but you can take a taxi into the old town for about 10 euros if you fancy being right in the thick of it. We liked the peace of the location externally and the hotel itself has a reasonably lively atmosphere inside. The beach is wonderful, we spent so much time out of doors... more

I took my wife and kids away to Salamis Bay Conti Hotel for a week after finding the hotel on gonorthcyprus.com. We got a good deal and couldn't wait. Sure enough, when we arrived we were given a great room, generously proportioned with a fantastic sea view. So many positives about this place, great pool area, close to the beach and the entertainment staff are brilliant at making sure nobody gets bored! Really, really clean throughout and a great selection of food, everything well cooked. All the... more

We booked a week at Salamis Bay Conti with our toddler after finding the hotel online. GoNorthCyprus gave us a good price and we were pleased with the booking process, which was very smooth. We were surprised to find so much on offer when we stayed in February, usually a lot of facilities are closed at hotels out of season but this resort had plenty open, including the pools, sauna, steam room and such. The staff were attentive and friendly and our room was comfortable and kept clean. The bathroom... more

This is a busy hotel with a lot to offer, we booked for a week with gonorthcyprus and had a great time. The hotel is large and clearly popular, we had a good-sized bedroom and bathroom which were both clean and well kept. The staff were all friendly, the hotel has a lively atmosphere and offers a great selection of food at mealtimes. All different kinds of cuisine, which is useful if you don't share the same tastes as other travellers in your group. Great pool area with plenty of sunbeds and the... more

I recently stayed at Salamis Bay with my husband and our daughter. We booked with Go North Cyprus, who were very accommodating and helpful and even arranged transfers for us. When we arrived at the hotel we were checked in efficiently by a friendly member of staff and given a comfortable room with a gorgeous sea view. Our daughter was full of energy (she is 3) and loved the indoor pool, we used it every day! It was fantastic to be so near to the beach as well, which was clean and pleasant. We had... more

I booked thru Go North Cyprus, overall happy with the Holiday but it is Not a five star, the rooms were clean and comfortable , the food a never ending choice and great Spa facilities, we spent most of our time on the beach . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and after they couldn't fix a non working AC unit in our room , they moved us into the new block, where we found a bottle of wine and some fruit waiting for us , (A nice touch ).... more

We stayed at the Salamis Bay Conti Hotel for a week in May with our four-year-old twins and had an amazing time, so much so that we've already arranged to return in 2017. We booked through GoNorthCyprus.com and got a great deal – we certainly didn't pay five-star prices! The hotel was clean and welcoming and we found fruit waiting for us in our room, which was a pleasant and unexpected touch. There was a great choice of food every day and plenty of fresh fruit and veg and parts of the hotel dedicated... more

Yet again, thanks to gonorthcyprus.com and the staff at Salamis Bay, we have had the most wonderful holiday. Form the moment we entered the fun began, with the playful banter with the reception staff. Our room was as great as always and the fruit and wine waiting for us was a real treat. The rooms are cleaned every day and the whole place is immaculate. We love visiting Famagusta and took the shuttle bus a couple of times. It was great to catch up with all friends at the bars we have frequented... more

An excellent hotel for all tastes. We went to totally relax and wasn't disappointed as the hotel has separate areas for those who want peace & quiet or want a more livelier experience. We spent most of the time on the beach with no hassle or noise from the nearby pool area. The hotel itself was not what most people consider 5 star but when you are in Northern Cyprus you have to take into consideration that there are no major hotel brands and be prepared for different standard to those experienced... more

A very disappointing stay. The Hotel is old, tired . They somehow think because guests have arrived All Inclusive that they haven't paid! The service is poor and drinks etc. are thrown at you. The quality of the drinks was terrible and like drinking paint stripper so paying AI is not worth it . There is a queue for breakfast and dinner as 1500 or more people file into 1 restaurant. Salamis has put a new block of bedrooms at the back and what serves these is an aqua pool so everybody uses the... more

I was very disappointed especially with a lack of English speaking staff. I found it really hard to communicate. The laundry services are absolutely useless, the gym opens late (but it's really well equipped). We stayed in a two bedroom villa, which was spotlessly clean. We had a great view of the pool and the sea which was lovely. The food was the best that we have ever experienced on an all inclusive basis, so much choice, well cooked and tasty. The desserts were plentiful and far too tempting! We were really pleased with the young man on Customer Relations who was really helpful, thank you. We found all the staff that we spoke to helpful and courteous. We stayed in a De-lux duplex at The Salamis Bay Conti Hotel. This consisted of a large living area/lounge, of which was a double bedroom; sea view balcony; stairs leading up to an on-suite bedroom with two single beds. Just off the entrance hallway was the main bathroom/toilet.The duplex overlooked the pool and sea. As it was only April, the sea was warm enough to swim and snorkel in. The hotel room was very clean but fairly small although adequate. It looked newly decorated in fact. The season didn't actually start until May, so a few things were not available, such as the water slides and one of the restaurants but this didn't affect our holiday. The staff were very pleasant and mostly helpful. Saying this we did have a small problem with the electrics in our room but, although we reported it twice it was never fixed. Our stay was extremely pleasant and we would recommend the hotel to anyone considering a holiday in Northern Cyprus. Even though we went there at a particularly unattractive time of the year, and were not able to enjoy the full range of available attractions such as swimming in sea or the beach, we had a good time. As much as I hate to subscribe to the stereotype that says that people will only bother to leave reviews in the event of a negative experience, I have just returned from Cyprus after a disappointing two-week stay and I feel a little compelled to make note of it, if not to prevent people from taking the same trip in future, then at least to spur the managers of the Salamis Bay to bring about some needed changes in their operation in order to bring it up to scratch. Hotel was lovely, with very helpful pleasant staff; all-inclusive was well worth the money, the food quality and variety meant that meal times were a joy. There is not a lot to do after a visit to Famagusta (the hotel has 2 mini-bus trips into and back form Famagusta daily) and a few day trips further afield (Kyrenia) however that was fine for us as we had the gym and indoor pool to keep us happy for the week of relaxation that we needed. The only down-side was the drilling that woke us up on Monday... more

I stayed at Salamis Bay Conti Hotel recently for a few days. I have to agree with the other reviews that say it's way below 5 stars. This hotel is maybe 3 stars, definitely no more, although they advertise themselves as being a 5 star hotel. The Salamis Bay Conti hotel seems a bit run-down to me (furniture and carpeting are pretty worn and everything seems outdated) and the air conditioning didn't work in my room. We stayed here for 9 days in May 2010. We'd read all the reviews before we went, and therefore weren't expecting too much from the hotel, but we were after a quiet getaway so it suited us just fine. It's advertised as 5-star, but that's not UK 5-star, I'd say it was more like a 3-star by UK standards. We stayed at the Salamis Bay last month and absolutely loved it!Before going we were warned that this part of North Cyprus was particularly desolate and therefore that we would be stuck with things to do. My wife and I stayed here with our kid (3 YO) in late January (In Cyprus to get away from a Russian winter and to look at some places to buy in North Cyprus), and found it better than anticipated from some of the reviews seen here. I would give it a fairly standard 4 stars. It is fairly old, and has that sort of 80s feel in terms of room fittings, and the faint whiff of laxer smoking laws in days gone by.
