British Hotel is a boutique hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus. Tucked up a pretty cobbled side street, the British Hotel is just behind historic Kyrenia harbour, with its restaurants, shops and cafés. This friendly hotel has recently been renovated, so every one of its 18 rooms has an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV and really comfortable beds. The harbour views from the British Hotel's roof terrace are probably the best in Kyrenia!

We found the British Hotel though gonorthcyprus.com, the price and reviews were good so we booked in. It's not a luxurious hotel by any means but the setting is ideal for getting around. The room we had was basic but comfortable with good air con. The staff are welcoming and friendly, especially the manager, and our room had a fantastic view over the harbour. We were also pleased that the TV had a few English speaking channels. Great location for exploring the old town's winding cobbled streets.... more
We booked a short break at the British Hotel through GoNorthCyprus.com and Gary in sales got us a very good deal. We had a very comfortable and clean room on the third floor with a great view over the nearby harbour and a lovely little balcony. A pleasant little place right by the harbour, the British Hotel was a good base for exploring Kyrenia. My wife and I stayed for a short break at the end of January into February and were able to relax and enjoy the setting. The staff are friendly and the room was sufficient for our needs, although if you want somewhere modern and luxurious this won't be for you! We stayed at the British Hotel recently on a cheap break with gonorthcyprus. It's a basic base but we mainly booked for the location, which is superb. The hotel is set in the old harbour area and the views are great, we had a room on the third floor and loved looking out over the water from the balcony. We've stayed at the British Hotel before, always through gonorthcyprus as they are experts in the area and find us the best deals. The location of the hotel is second to none, it is very convenient for exploring Girne and it's also relatively cheap. That said, if you prefer somewhere luxurious this might not be the place for you, it is a no-frills setup and everything is very basic. We booked in at the British Hotel with gonorthcyprus, mainly for the fantastic central setting but we were also very impressed with the hotel in other ways, as it turned out. First, the staff made us feel very welcome, they were polite and helpful during our whole stay. I recently spent a week at the British Hotel in Kyrenia after booking with gonorthcyprus. I chose this hotel for its location and it was perfect. I could be at the harbourside cafes and bars in two minutes, the shops and busses in five minutes, walking through meadering narrow lanes which are a delight. We had a 10 night stay at the British Hotel. We chose this hotel for it's location and it couldn't be more perfect. The owner and staff were lovely and very helpful . There is no parking if you're hiring a car, but there is free parking around the castle walls, which is less than a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Very friendly staff - ideal location with proviso that there is no parking if you wish to hire a car - third floor rooms worth extra supplement - disappointing breakfasts same morning after morning and could not provide tomato ketchup on request - if you want a centre Kyrenia hotel at a reasonable price then this is it. A quirky little hotel right on the harbour. Clean, though rooms could do with a little decorating (peeling wallpaper, re-grouting of tiles in bathroom). Beds changed every two days which was lovely as it was so hot, getting into a lovely clean crisp cool bed was heaven. Air conditioning kept the room lovely and cool during the hot, hot nights. Stayed Friday to Sunday. Great location and as previous reviewers have said, ask for a third floor room (lift available) as the views over harbour are worth it. Good central location. Room clean and tidy although a damp patch in the bathroom. Breakfast not my "cup of tea" but as again previously stated, ample tea / coffee / meats / cheeses / olives ETC. The two best things about this hotel are the location, overlooking the harbour in Kyrenia and the really kind and friendly staff. It is a small hotel, only 18 rooms, which I prefer as you get a much more personal service. On the negative side, it could do with some updating, there is some peeling wallpaper in some rooms and it would benefit from rewiring but everything in my room worked and the hotel was scrupulously clean. I don't understand how this hotel got good review from customers. This hotel is only good for location, because it is situated right next to the Marina where are many bars and restaurants. It is also walking distance for most attractions and Kyrenia castle, nice to visit. My room, at third floor and so more expensive, was the most dirty room I never see. Worth paying for the third floor for fantastic views over the harbour, very clean and tidy, self service breakfasts are ample with cold meat/salami?/cheese/olives and always a choice of omlette boiled egg or scrambled egg! Freshly squeezed juice is lovely.It is not five star, a few damp patches around but very good value with attentive staff. This is was our second visit to the British Hotel as we were there a few weeks ago and thought we should go back with our friends. Hotel in excellent location overlooking the harbour, it's clean and staff are very friendly. Breakfast is very basic, with cold meats, cheese, tomatoes etc with a choice of freshly made scrambled, fried or boiled egg or an omelette. Stayed at the British Hotel for 3 nights and had a lovely time. Hotel in excellent location on the harbour area with views to die for if you get in the 2nd or 3rd floor on the harbour side. We had a bit of a disapppointing start to our holiday, as we arrived in the early hours of the morning and were told our room was not available. We therefore had to unpack our overnight things and then re-pack them in the morning before moving to the room we had booked.We had read quite a lot about the hotel before we went, but did not allow that to influence our opinion either way. This Hotel is run efficiently, the staff are smart and always available to assist you when called upon. On departure we had a problem with an obstinate Taxi Driver (not Cypriot), the senior Hotel management fixed this with the minimum of fuss!! I stayed at the British Hotel recently and in spite of it's fairly low 2-star rating, I felt as if I were in a 3 or 4 star hotel! There are many good things to say about the British Hotel, it's proximity to the old harbour and lots of restaurants (we particularly liked Niazi's and the Lagoon restaurants). My partner and I loved the idea of the exclusivity of a boutique hotel and the British Hotel didn't disappoint. We were recomanded this hotel from some friend, who had been there a couple of years ago, and we were not disappointed.The hotel is very nice and clean. Very helpful people. The Hotel is 1 street back from the harbour wall next to the White Pearl. It is a good quiet style hotel with a helpful, welcoming staff and atmosphere. It has a lift but a couple of steps up from street level to the ground floor and from the ground floor to the lift. Picture gives the impression that the hotel is directly on the harbour. It is,in fact one street back. This is of little consequence as rooms on the upper floors have a commanding view of the harbour and castle. We booked the British Hotel because we don't drive and we wanted to stay right in the centre of Kyrenia, rather than outside the city in a resort hotel. The British Hotel was ideal as it overlooked the harbour, and the entrance was up a pretty little cobbled side street. From the balcony in our room we had a superb view across the harbour to Kyrenia Castle, which was a great place to sit and watch the boats come and go.
