This was our third trip to Alkan Holiday Village. The simple beauty, tranquillity always bring us back here, and the value for money in second to none. We passed this hotel, which we had already booked, on our way to another centre, and feared the worst. It's in an area which is being developed for ex-pat residences, is on a main road, and the immediate beach is in need of total redevelopment, but don't be put off, we would definitely go back. I've just come back from my second ever stay at the Alkan Holiday Village and it totalled reaffirmed why I chose to return! It is an absolute gem of a hotel! The Alkan hotel was a completely new experience for us. We visit Northern Cyprus very regularly (about 4 times per year) and have both family and friends who live out there. I went with my husband last year to visit some friends and family in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus. This is the first time I have stayed at the Alkan Hotel, and I was very impressed with it. I went with my husband to visit some of his relatives in Northern Cyprus. The hotel was small and sophisticated; it is not located in a big city which is what we preferred. It is not the normal hotel but designed in the style of small apartments. In 2005 we, as a family with teenagers, stopped here for a drink on an eastwardly exploration drive. Since then I have been trying to find the hotel again, with a view to staying there. We stayed here recently and I was very disappointed in the service as well as the amenities. Our room was sub-standard, without the usual niceties of most hotels. We noticed there was no coffee maker, so inquired at the front desk, only to be told they didn't have one available for our room. We had to order room service in order to get coffee in our room! We just returned from spending a week at the Alkan Holiday Village in North Cyprus and here's what we thought. Since this was our first trip to this area, I can't compare this hotel to others, but I can say that it was one of the best vacations I've ever had. The Alkan Holiday Village is a good distance outside of town, so if you are looking for entertainment that is within walking distance, this probably isn't ideal for you. My husband and I stayed at the Alkan Hotel for about a week when we went to North Cyprus to visit friends. We loved the place! It was small and out of the way, which we prefer, and was designed in apartment style bungalows, rather than motel rooms. My wife and I decided it was time for a short break so we chose to visit the Alkan hotel in Esentepe as my other half loves Cyprus. The Alkan Holiday Village was about half an hour ride from the Airport which wasnt too bad at all. Being a golf fan myself I was very happy to find that a new course had been built close by too. We stayed twice at the Alkan Holiday Village while our Esentepe apartment was being finished. For us the location was ideal because it was just a 5 min drive to our new development, but it would be great for anyone on holiday too, especially golf fans. The Alkan is only a 10 min drive to the Korineum golf course, the only 18 hole course in North Cyprus.
