We spotted the Altinkaya Holiday Resort on the gonorthcyprus website and thought it was a nice looking hotel with attractive pool area. We booked in and on arrival were impressed by how appealing the hotel looks. The staff were friendly and made us feel at home. My husband and I have visited the Altinkaya three times now with GoNorthCyprus. Gary looks after us very well and arranges our transfers to and from the hotel, which is very helpful. Just returned from our second stay at the Altinkaya, booked both times through gonorthcyprus. It is fast becoming our favourite place for an out of season break, the staff are so welcoming and we always have a wonderful time. We booked a last minute trip to north Cyprus with gonorthcyprus.com, and chose the Altinkaya because it seemed to be a good mid-range hotel. We weren't disappointed, the hotel was very nice and clean, a little dated in parts but for the price we paid we're not complaining! I recently travelled to North Cyprus with 2 friends, we booked a stay at the Altinkaya holiday village with GoNorthCyprus.com for February as we were all feeling the strain from work and the cold in the UK. When we arrived we found our bungalow to be clean and well equipped - simple, understated style surrounded by lovely greenery. Altinkaya was recommended by friends , I called Go North Cyprus ( nice to find them open on a Sunday), the knowledge of the staff stood out and the price was good so I didn't bother checking elsewhere, Flights were with Turkish Airlines, very comfortable, Private Mercedes from the airport took about 25 Mins. We've just returned from a fantastic week's stay at Altinkaya Holiday Resort, which we booked through GoNorthCyprus.com. Such a peaceful setting despite being just off the roadside and the bungalow we stayed in was perfectly clean, comfortable and quiet. There isn't tons of choice at mealtimes but the food is fresh and tasty so this wasn't an issue for us. The pool area is gorgeous, as are the grounds, and there are wonderful views down to the city. This Hotel is used by Cosmetic Surgery Cyprus, and as my Daughter and I were having some work done, was suggested we stay there, however, the reviews didnt seem all that favourable, but since they were familiar with guests resembling the walking wounded decided to stay. What a treat! When we booked our holiday through Go North Cyprus we were advised that even though the accommodation was called a bungalow it actually had 2 floors! This is a Mediterranean thing apparently and while it didn't bother us, this information would be invaluable to the elderly or inform, so bravo gonortherncyprus.com for the recommendation.Our “bungalow” was lovely. We booked Altinkaya primarily because of the location , to be close to family living in Girne. It was a good choice for this and worked perfectly. We knew the Hotel was a 3 star at the time of booking and our expectations were based on this - however we were somewhat disappointed at the very basic standard of the bungalow room we stayed in. This hotel is in an excellent location, and set in beautiful gardens, with a large pool. The gardens and the pool are very well maintained. The hotel is very clean and very nice. All the staff are excellent. Very friendly and helpful. If I had to find a fault, it would be that the bathrooms are a bit tired and could do with a revamp, but for what you pay on BandB, I certainly wouldn't complain. I and my family had a rest in hotel Altinkaya from April 30 to May 11, 2015. Together with us mine had a rest 5 summer daughter. I've just returned from my first ever trip to North Cyprus and cannot believe I haven't been there sooner! It was just stunning- the least spoilt holiday spot I've been too. This hotel was suggested by our booking agent (gonorthcyprus.com) as a family friendly destination that we could use as a great base whilst doing some exploring in the region. My father and husband were on business so the rest of the family decided to come along and make a holiday of a week, despite it being the off season. The cleaners as lovely as they were, need to be equipped with some decent cleaning products. The bathroom was filthy when we arrived and looked no different after the cleaners had been. I was tempted to buy and leave a bottle of Flash behind for them to use. The water was barely warm and I dreaded the morning showers. We have just returned from Altinkaya Holiday Village. staying on a BB basis. There are plus and minus points to this hotel.First of all the minus points. We stayed at The Altinkaya fro 2 weeks from the 2nd October , the staff were the friendliest we have come across for some time. Nothing was too much trouble or them, from the very first thing on a morning to the last thing at night they always had a smile. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good and the location is very convenient for Girne and the surrounding villages. The building is around 10 years old and the bathrooms in particular are urgently due for a makeover. The double beds are very small! King size ones would make the stay more comfortable. If you value peace and quiet you may want to ask for a room at the back of the building away from the main road and the pool - and the view from the back towards the mountains... more
Arrived late and were put in a room across the road from the real hotel. They call this a bungalow but sleeping area up a steep flight of stairs- not good as loo downstairs. Spoke to receptionist after breakfast next morning and moved to main site with bungalow on one level, which we were much happier with. Just had a week in a bungalow at Altinkaya, very comfortable and clean. Breakfasts provided at the hotel were excellent, varied and very fresh. We also decided to eat there most nights, on a la carte service and were very happy with the food served. Most pleasing of all was the attitude and service of the staff which was first class. OK, 1st things first. You will find many differing views on this hotel and the reason is that there is a varied range of acom types. I'm going to try and explain what you've got. The resort is split across 2 sites, pretty much opposite sides of the main road to Bellapais. Stayed with friends for 4 nights, we stay on a bed and breakfast basis and used the hotel to sleep at but for little else, my wife tried a breakfast on the first morning but found it was cold, not nice cold scambled eggs, so we ended up eating in town. The rooms were rather small especially if you had an end room with a double bed in, and although we had a kettle in the room we found we could not get the fridge to work & storeage seemed to be problomatic as well in all a little TLC would not go... more

Me and my cousin stayed here from the middle of July 2012 until the end of July. Overall I would have to say it is a good hotel. We were very please with our room and the location of the hotel was amazing, right in the center of everything. There is about 12 beaches within 10-25min drive. What a fantastic time we had. The hotel was lovely, set in beautiful gardens and the pool was amazing. We did have a couple of minor problems with the room which were sorted out extremely quickly and professionally. It was a lovely mixture of hotel rooms, bunglows and duplexs with the meals being taken on a large terrace overlooking the beautiful pool. The accommodation was what we wanted, a bungalow with bed and breakfast. So when we arrived at 11pm we were unable to have any hot food !! and were put into a hotel room as our accommodation was not ready. But when it was the day to leave our taxi did not pick us up at 6pm but had to be out of our bungalow at 1pm, there was a place for our cases to be held at the hotel but no showers to use. For the price we paid, the Altinkaya hotel was very impressive. There were a few little niggles, but overall it was nice considering the fact that we got a very cheap deal. The Altinkaya has a range of accommodations available; you can chose from a bungalow, a villa or a single hotel room. I chose a single room, and I was very impressed with it. We stayed at the Altinkaya Holiday Village for a week recently and were given one of the studio rooms across from the main hotel. We found these to be quite nice and we were very pleased with the accommodations. There are 12 of these apartments situated around a pool, which was very peaceful and more or less out of the way of the majority of the guests, as most stay in the main hotel.We were less pleased with the quality of the food. Third visit to Northern Cyprus and I wasn't thrilled with this hotel. We arrived late in the evening and were shown to a room that wasn't very clean. The furniture and fixtures were stained and had a build-up of old grime that caused me to question our decision to stay here. We enjoyed our stay, we thought the staff were very helpful and polite. The downfall was that our accomodation was very dated, we never looked forward to going back to our bungalow. The shower had a mind of it's own (whether to run hot or cold) and the furniture had definately seen better day's. I stayed for one week and enjoyed the friendly and very hospitable atmosphere the hotel staff engendered. The Altinkaya Holiday Village offers cheap and cheerful accommodation, but how cheerful depends on whether you choose a hotel room, a villa and a bungalow. I opted for the hotel, and judging from other guest's comments, I got the best deal. My room was clean, airy and perfectly acceptable for the price. We booked a bungalow at the Altinkaya Holiday Village for one week, and were disappointed to find it was in dire need of renovation. Our bathroom had a leaking tap, a shower that had two settings, boiling or freezing, and cracked tiling that we actually taped up for safety.
