I had a lovely time at the Pia Bella with my family - totally relaxing in their beuatiful gardens which was just what the doctor ordered even in 40 degree heat. Unfortunately I had put my mobile phone in a drawer as I'd been unable to use it and linadvertently eft it behind when we returned to UK. Since this was a family run hotel with staff that couldn't have done enough for us during our visit, this did not worry me. Apparently there is no crime in Northern Cyprus so, when I rang the hotel and they said they'd found it, I was not surprised. After several emails and phone calls including offers to pay for their trouble they have never responded or suggested any means of recovering the phone. They haven't sent the sim card; a list of numbers stored in the phone or the handset itself.

I would have loved to have returned to explore the island at a cooler time of year but this has really spoilt my memory of the place. I've contacted the company I booked through and they haven't helped either. Ok, it was my mistake but I would have expected a little better after care - it makes me think that they were putting on a show. If I were you, I'd find a hotel nearer a beach which I'm sure will be as nice and hopefully more honourable just in case you make a mistake.
