What can i say here that will put this point across. In our opinion, a really poor hotel and certainly not as good as it should be at all. Upon arrival we found our rooms had not been cleaned or even serviced, still left from the last occupants. Litter was in the bins, the shower door was filthy, the Bogaz staff unfriendly and of no help at all either, the furniture is only fit for a stable, and i wasnt even happy to use the balcony as it didnt look safe to stand on. The sheets fitted to our bed... more

We chose to book a room at the Bogaz Hotel because we were interested in finding somewhere to stay in Northern Cyprus for the lowest possible cost and the Bogaz website had promised us a comfortable stay.Upon arrival I think it is fair to say that we were distinctly underwhelmed. My husband and I were checked-in to a room where the only view from the window was of the hotel's waste dump. We also found the room to be lacking several things we were told we could expect to be there: both the kettle... more

We were really disappointed with our stay at the Bogaz Hotel, in fact at one stage we contemplated leaving early! We didn't have really high expectations of the hotel but you do expect a certain standard when going on holiday, particularly when the hotel has 3 stars and not 1.The hotel was run down and looked dirty throughout. The rooms were mismatched and the furniture looked old and tired. The shower was in the worst state. Although there was a cleaning team, the room never looked much different... more

The Bogaz is reasonably priced and we had booked cheap flights. All in all, we had a good holiday. If this was a school report, I might say 'could do better'. It needs some tidying up and perhaps, a refurbishment. The start wasn't so good, as we were shown into a half decorated room with a view of the rubbish heap and some amenities were missing. This was sorted out quickly and we upgraded for some extra money to another room. This one had a sea view, which was really beautiful so it turned out... more

We had booked on scheduled flights through CYTA and into inexpensive accommodation, having browsed the Bogaz Hotel website. The website promised comfort and we found it although our first room had a view of rubbish and the hair dryer and kettle were missing. They gave us an upgraded room with an incredible sea view for another £30 and we soon got our hairdryer and kettle.Rubbish is usually around when you travel to Greece or Turkey and this place wasn't perfect but it's great for the money and I... more

I have to say that it was a relief to return from the Bogaz Hotel. An experience it was, but certainly not a good one! My wife and I were aware that we had paid to stay in a 3 star hotel, I guess you really want to stay in a 4 or 5 star given the choice, but our trip was a last minute 'we need a holiday' getaway so we couldn't afford to be picky. However, saying that, if you stayed in a 3 star hotel in the UK you would still expect the hotel to be in a good state of repair and certainly clean. The... more

I decided to visit Cyprus after spending a few hours trawling through reviews on line and finally deciding to book at the Bogaz Hotel. Initially I was a little confused as there seemed to be a two trains of thoughts, either love it or hate it! Then I noticed that the 'love it' reviews were generally quite recent, so I decided I'd give the Bogaz Hotel a fair chance and booked up. When we arrived it was really obvious that this hotel had experienced a big makeover in the last few years and the results... more

We got to the Bogaz Hotel after a very long flight, tired and looking forward to relaxing by the poolside with a cocktail or three. Having booked the hotel after viewıng the details on the web, we were sure we wouldn't be disappointed. The websıte had definitely looked very impressive and we couldn't wait to use the facilities which were described as, amongst other things “luxurious”.When we finally arrived, we realized we'd made a big mistake – there was no pool, no bar, a beach that... more

Bogaz is what North Cyprus was like before the development boom, but that doesn't mean its been left behind. The Bogaz Hotel was a real surprise - we'd expected something tired and basic, but since its renovation its really turned out nicely. Inside its trying to be Boho chic, and sort of getting there, but outside its still a beachside hotel next to the fishing harbour. Our room was nice, surprisingly big, with a double and a single bed, and was overlooking the sea with a little balcony. Decor was... more

Just returned from a week at the Bogaz and really glad to be home! Our first room was horrible - broken door lock, dirty carpet, torn curtains, plastic chairs on the balcony that were water-stained and grubby, dodgy power sockets, and a bathroom where the only thing that didn't leak was the toilet. Even the minibar was mouldy! After the first night, we asked to be moved to a seaview room, which they did. This room had less problems and was in better condition, but was still not very clean and the... more
