This is a hotel review for Pia Bella Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus

“A very friendly, welcoming hotel with good food and service.”

We were met punctually at airport and taken to the hotel by taxi. We were warmly greeted with a cup of tea whilst our cases were taken to our room. We were told we had been upgraded to a junior suite (we had booked a deluxe garden room). We were very disappointed to see that although this was a lovely suite we looked directly over the top of a garage roof, where workmen were repairing the roof, and the main road.

In the morning we complained to Sarah the room allocation manager explaining we had booked a deluxe garden room and she said she would see what she could do. So by midday we were moved to a deluxe room overlooking the gardens and were very pleased.

From there on we had a delightful holiday - lots of comfortable seats/sunbeds in the shade or sun in the gardens. The rooms were kept very clean with tea and coffee making facilities (no milk), plenty of bottles of shampoo, soap etc.

The waiters were very friendly and helpful enjoying a good joke and laugh.

The food was excellent - the chef cooking omellettes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, pancakes on demand each morning. There was an enormous choice of mezes for starters in the evening, plus soup, and main courses with vegetables followed by 3 cabinets of lots of small sized desserts - fabulous. Only complaint - some of the main course veg were a bit tasteless - however a lot of people skipped these in favour of the many salads. Drink prices were very comparable to bars and cafes and cheaper than the rest of Europe!

There were a lot of returners to this hotel and we could well be back again soon!

NB to managers - perhaps the rooms facing the garage could be marketed at a much lower price for two or three people - making people aware when booking that they are very cheap because of the view. I am sure there would be plenty of people who would then be willing to stay in these rooms at a reduced rate - saving you the hassle of continually moving people in and then out of them!
