My family and I have just returned for our only holiday of the year. We chose North Cyprus as a refreshing change from the norm and were so pleasantly surprised that we've talked about returning. We stayed in the Hotel Pia Bella which is situated in the old part of Kyrenia, a walk away from its beautiful harbour side. It's advertised as a small hotel but we didn't think it was particularly small- more like a normal hotel abroad.

The food at the Hotel Pia Bella was excellent. There was a great mix of traditional and popular meals, as well as an extensive breakfast buffet. Everything was really fresh. The waiting staff were incredibly friendly and helpful which mirrored the staff in the rest of the hotel. This is a real plus!

Our room had really good facilities, with plenty of tea and coffee; fresh towels nearly every day; bathroom toiletries and a hairdryer. The only downside of the room was the bathroom, as both the shower and bath taps were very slow! We gave up on ever having a bath.

For a hotel near to a major town, the Pia Bella's grounds are surprisingly relaxing. The entire hotel is surrounded by beautifully kept gardens which really add to the feeling that you are getting away from it all.

We booked our stay through the website gonorthcyprus.com. Without reading their reviews and speaking to Gary, an agent, we would not have found this brilliant hotel! Nor would we have had advice about staying half board to save money. I would recommend using them to anyone- they even got us a really good price.
