We've just returned from a holiday at the Olive Tree Hotel on the outskirts of Kyrenia, which we booked through the GoNorthCyprus website. Great stay overall, the food was amazing even from the bar and the service couldn't be faulted. The pool area is super and our room was clean and tidy although a little on the tired side. The hotel grounds are beautiful, very natural and green. The hotel runs a free bus service into Kyrenia and back, which is fantastic if you don't want to hire a car. We took... more
My wife and I stayed at the Olive Tree Hotel recently on a deal we found through gonorthcyprus.com. The service was very friendly and efficient from the waiters, cleaning staff and others, and the views are unbeatable with the hotel being between the sea and the Five Finger Mountains. Our room was slightly dated but clean. I expect the rooms will be updated now that the busy season is over. Breakfast was sufficient each morning but we ate out the rest of the time, there are so many fabulous restaurants... more
My wife and I visited the Olive Tree Hotel recently, booking through Gary at gonorthcyprus. It was our first time in the area and we were impressed with the reviews of the Olive Tree. Sure enough, when we arrived, we found the staff on reception very friendly and pleasant, their English was good and they checked us in to a spacious and well appointed room. It was clean and comfortable, which is vital, the decor is nice enough just a couple of little bits here and there that could have had a slightly... more
I stayed at the Olive Tree for a short break with friends in April and we feel we got a very good deal. We stayed in the bungalows, which were clean and nicely decorated. GoNorthCyprus booked everything for us and arranged our transfers so we didn't have to lift a finger. Staff made us feel welcome on arrival and always had a smile for us. Nice patio area for chilling out and the pool is great. We stayed half board and enjoyed the breakfast every day, it was filling and tasty. Also had the evening... more
We've just got back from a break at the Olive Tree, which we booked with GoNorthCyprus. What a wonderful place! If you want value for money you will get it in bucketloads here. The staff were friendly and hospitable, the setting is spectacular with the mountainous backdrop and we had a lovely spacious room, very pleasantly decorated and finished to a high standard. The hotel is clean and well kept and the pool is wonderful and also spotless. Delicious breakfast and a handy shuttle bus service to... more
Beautiful complex, great value break - so glad we found this place on the gonorthcyprus website and booked there and then. My partner and I stayed for a week recently and were really won over by the charming, peaceful location. Lovely outdoor pool area and surrounding plant life and well kept accommodation. We stayed half board and really enjoyed the breakfast - not your typical English breakfast but fresh omelettes, fruit and more - always tasty. The hotel is in a secluded spot, ideal for us as... more
I've just returned from an amazing stay at the Olive Tree, beautiful hotel with fantastic staff! Booked a week here for me and my partner with GoNorthCyprus and couldn't be happier, easy booking process (thanks Mandy) and a warm welcome when we arrived. It was quite late but the hotel had sorted us some snacks and drinks, which was really pleasant and unexpected! We had a very comfortable room stocked with toiletries, it was spacious, clean and well decorated. The decor throughout is a non-standard,... more
We were assured by GoNorthCyprus that we would receive a warm welcome from the Olive Tree staff and we were not disappointed! What a friendly place! We booked a week's holiday here around Christmas to get away from the chaos back home and found the whole experience wonderfully relaxing. The staff are fantastic, they can't do enough to make sure you have a nice stay. We had a lovely villa with a modern bathroom and enjoyed the meals we had here - the salad bar is very good. The hotel is well out... more
Have just come back from a week at the Olive tree, we normally stay the other side of Kyrenia but fancied a change . Mandy from Go North Cyprus suggested the Olive tree , set in the foothills of the mountains in the village of Catalkoy, the breeze was welcome , the Hotel Itself has just opened so everything is nice and new , Ideal for a relaxing break , we stayed on breakfast basis and found many restaurants within an easy 5 minute drive, The option to hire Mountain bikes was one that we never got... more
My wife has recently had a big birthday so I contacted Gary from gonorthcyprus to see if they had any good deals for hotels in Kyrenia in order to surprise her. We've used the site before and have always spoken to Gary as we find him so helpful and amusing at the same time! After looking at a few options, I decided to book the Olive Tree Hotel as I liked the idea of having a villa rather than a hotel room. I decided that as it was a special treat, I'd pay the extra to upgrade and I'm so glad I did-... more
We recently stayed at the Olive Tree with our little girl after booking with gonorthcyprus.com and really recommend the hotel. It's clean, bright and airy, with a magnificent foyer and a real bohemian flavour to the décor. The views are amazing – the hotel is at the foot of a mountain range, really spectacular. It wasn't hot when we travelled so the indoor pool was a godsend, although I bet the outdoor pool is fantastic in warmer weather. We found the staff to be welcoming and polite and our triple... more
I can't fault the customer service I got from the travel agents I booked the Olive Tree Hotel with. For the first time I used an online travel agent (www.gonorthcyprus) because the in-store ones just can't compete with online prices. I spoke to Mandy who gave me so much information about Kyrenia and recommended that for our hotel choice we book a hire car- this came in really handy! Our accommodation at the Olive Tree Hotel was a wonderful spacious and very clean villa. This was the biggest plus... more
I took my family to the Dedeman Olive Tree in Kyrenia for a week in June 2009. It was a return visit for me, as I had already been there alone for a few nights in May 2002. I immediately became besotted with the place- even moreso now that travel arrangements are easier to make on the Turkish side of Cyprus. Today, all is much simpler and we could easily fly to Larnaca, rent a car (or catch a taxi) and drive over to Kyrenia. When I last visited, the Olive Tree held the record for the largest pool... more
This resort hotel must be very attractive in the summer, with its swim-up pool bar and sunny terraces, but in winter we found it to be decidedly unattractive despite the good views. Our first bungalow looked lovely from the outside, but inside it was damp, dirty and the air con/heating unit did not work. We asked to be moved and our second bungalow was better, but not by much. The evening food, a buffet, was neither good or hot, too much like motorway services catering for our tastes. Luckily,... more
