My wife and I recently visited the Ship Inn Hotel after booking through gonorthcyprus.com. We were impressed by the reviews and are happy to add to them! It's a nice quiet hotel run by a friendly family. Lots of food and drink on offer, great variety and quality. We had a pleasant, clean room that was kept in good condition throughout our stay. we booked a last minute deal online and were happy that it matched expectations , certainly better weather the hotel was ideal for us, staff were friendly, room was comfortable , only had breakfast there as so many good restaurants near by, very good fish restaurant (Hur Deniz) a few minutes walk away.The local bus stops right outside, ideal for exploring the coastline and very reasonable too.The major plus that this Hotel has is the heated indoor pool and sauna.... more
We're an older couple and we like our relaxing trips to North Cyprus, this year we stayed at the Ship Inn Hotel for the first time, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We found the Ship Inn Hotel on gonorthcyprus.com and booked in immediately, we were so impressed with the reviews. The staff were great and very welcoming, despite us arriving after 11pm! We enjoyed a drink in the bar and settled in to our room, which was close to the road but not overly noisy. Superb mountain views. My husband and I have been to the Ship Inn three times now, each stay we booked with gonorthcyprus for their reliable, efficient service. We like the Ship because it's not too big or too small, the prices are excellent and the service is always good, as is the food. This was our second stay at the Ship Inn, both times we booked with gonorthcyprus for the best deal. We were looking for comfort but not high prices and the Ship Inn is a good choice. It is a little tired here and there but you can't really complain for the price, plus the beds are really comfortable, the staff are pleasant and friendly and the place is kept very clean. We booked a short break at the Ship Inn Hotel with Go North Cyprus and have just returned feeling very well rested. Our room was basic but clean and we were happy with it. My first time in Kyrenia, Cyprus and this family run business was great, like being at a home away from home, nothing was to big or small for them to handle, had a small problem with the air con and it was dealt with asap, The Ship Inn goes above and beyond for all of their clients to make the whole experience relaxing and comfortable, a truly great holiday. My husband and I stayed at The Ship Inn for just one day after a business trip. What a pleasure. The pool was beautiful and clean and it was easy to get a chaise lounge and an umbrella. Having stayed in Kyrenia many times, I can say without a doubt that the Ship Inn is one of the best hotels in the area. I booked a break through GoNorthCyprus, they always find me a great deal so I travel with them every year. I have stayed at the Ship once before, a few years ago. My husband and I chose The Ship Inn on the recommendation of our travel agent GoNorthCyprus.com as the hotel was one of the best places to cater for our large family of five. As it has villas, we were all able to stay in one building but still had our separate spaces. When browsing the GoNorthCyprus website, we were totally taken with the images of the Ship Inn Hotel, with its picturesque setting. Stayed here during January this year - booking was nice and easy through Sue at Go North Cyprus. Honestly we're not the fussiest tourists in the world but we were assured a great stay and that's what we planned to have.The Ship Inn is just outside the centre of Kyrenia, situated along the main road but a bit further than would be comfortable to walk more than once or twice. My wife and I have just returned after our first visit to North Cyprus. We stayed at the Ship Inn for 2 weeks. The whole staff were fantastic, not one bad one amongst them. The room we had 507 was a mountain view on the 3rd floor. No lifts so plenty of stairs :) As we were at the top of the building it was always very hot when returning at tea time. We stayed at the Ship Inn over the Easter weekend on half board basis.The hotel is about 1.5km from Kyrenia(Girne) centre and is set in excellent grounds and has a large outdoor swimming pool. The hotel was perfect. Lovely staff , very clean, very helpful. It is a forty minute walk to Girne but dolmus very reliable and only 2.5 lira each and a five minute journey.Good facilities. Used car hire at fair price.All staff were very attentive. The location although by the main road is good with the backdrop of the mountains . Traffic un noticeable when by the pool and the area appears to be very safe. Don't be put off by the amount of military bases in north Cyprus. They cause no problems.... more
Weather was favourable although extremely windy one day,a little chilly in the evenings.Hotel was clean, well staffed and very friendly. The pool area is great if you want to just lounge around. Had a very nice holiday at the Ship.The hotel is very basic, no frills but this reflects what we paid.Hotel staff very friendly, we meet many people that come back again and again every year.The hotel is full of mainly English holiday makers and a few Dutch.Would defiantly use again for a cheap out of season holiday. Can't understand what Jill (2009) is rattling on about, think she's had a touch too much of the sun!!! The Ship Inn is very clean, comfortable and the rooms are quite spacious with balconies. The food is excellent, we ate there twice with people we met who also thought it was good. Firstly you should be aware that despite the address, the Ship Inn hotel is actually just outside of Kyrenia, but not by far (only a few miles). We visited for a whole week after having this hotel matched to our needs by a booking agent (Sue) from go north cyprus holiday booking company. I took my husband for a 10-day stay at the Ship Inn for his birthday this year. We don't have a massive amount of disposable income, but I didn't want a bargain basement hotel and the Ship offered a nice middle-ground between cheap and extravagant. The accommodation itself is fantastic compared with other hotel's offerings in this price range - which is one of the reasons it was recommended by gonorthcyprus travel company. I surprised my wife with a last minute trip to Kyrenia because I managed to get a great deal now the summer season is over. I'm pretty sure that she would've been made up with anywhere we stayed considering it was a treat, but we were both very impressed with the Ship Inn considering its price. We stayed at the Ship Inn recently at the start of the busy season as a birthday surprise. We purchased full board, which we realized was a mistake. The full board menu quickly became boring, as it was very repetitive and also there wasn't much food on the plate. Stopped at Ship Inn from 13 th to 17th September when meeting up with friends who had travelled from UK for a 15day stay at the Ship , i reside in Limassol in the ROC .The hotel is very nice , kept immaculately clean , especially the pool , pool bar is good for drinks and snacks , restaurant has an extensive menu and is reasonably priced but best of all is the wonderful happy staff , both inside and out , who offer great service with a smile .Thank you all , i will certainly stop here again .... more
We have been staying here twice a year for 4 years. Been to plenty of others but I can't better The Ship. I would reccomend to friends and family. Very pleased with the Ship Inn's service - much better than the price suggests. Room was clean if not oversmart. Whole hotel atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming, as a family hotel should be. TV was all Turkish, tho'.Arrived late in the evening but staff made sure we had something to eat and helped with our bags. The Ship Hotel was dreadful, the food and drinks were very expensive and they had a total monopoly as there was absolutely nowhere to go outside of the hotel. Nearest supermarket was a fifteen minute walk.On the 3 days that we stayed our room was never cleaned before 4.30 in the afternoon, we had to ask to be shown how to use the room safe 3 times, a party of 23 arrived on what I assume was a company bonding weekend and took over the pool for their silly games. The Ship Inn may sound like a pub, but behind its mock Tudor facade is a really nice hotel! We met guests who have stayed there year after year, always a good sign. The bar was also popular with ex-pats, so it was always lively.Our room had been refurbished last year and was kept tidy and clean, with a good bathroom, decent balcony and nice new beds.
