Pia Bella Hotel Review - 50 of 149 Reviews

My sister and i have just returned from our holiday and I just want to make you aware of the very disappointing start. We arrived at the hotel at 10pm only to be told that they didn't have a room for us. After our meal we were then transferred to a very inferior hotel ( the Kyrenia Teachers Hotel) It was incredibly shabby and when we came to take our medication we couldn't even find a glass let alone a bottle of water. My sister was directed to a local supermarket to purchase some water. During our stay we discovered that overbooking is a frequent occurrence at the Pia Bella. Personally I do not feel this is acceptable, my sister and I work hard and looked forward to our holiday, I had even e-mailed the hotel prior to our departure as this was my sister's first holiday since becoming a widow and I asked if every thing could go smoothly but I did not receive a reply. We had booked a superior room and was upgraded to a deluxe which in my opinion is not much of a difference and we were given a complementary glass of wine each but I hardly think this is compensation for a very disappointing first evening when you arrive hoping to beable to unpack and enjoy your first evening of the holiday.

We did a lot of research before booking the Pia Bella but can only assume people can't be bothered to write after having a bad experience. The good things about the hotel are the staff, the pool areas (apart from an area near the toilets where I saw several people trip up) even the location is convenient for the harbour. I definitely wouldn't choose half board, breakfast is ok but the hot evening meals can only be described as canteen standard. Very disappointing and would not return.
