Pia Bella Hotel Review - 7 of 149 Reviews

This is the first time I spent the winter away from the UK, and it won't be the last. I can honestly say spending the winter in Kyrenia is money well spent. I avoided all the winter bugs that my friends back home had, met some lovely friends at the Pia Bella Hotel and had a wonderful travel experience.

Although Kyrenia is not hot in January (it was around 60F, 15C when I was there) but the sun shone every day. When the temperatures dropped in the evening, the staff lit a big log fire in the bar. It was perfect weather for walking into the town or exploring the wonderful mountains. I felt very safe there, even as a woman travelling alone, and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The trip to Bellapais Abbey is wonderful for the breathtaking views and I enjoyed the pretty town of Famagusta, especially the harbour and Othello Tower. Unfortunately there is a lot of litter spoiling the countryside, but I just ignored it.

I can only say good things about the hotel and I loved every minute I was there. The food was delicious at every meal and plenty of variety. The buffet salads at dinner were the best. The rooms are very spacious and well furnished and the girls keep everywhere spotlessly clean. The gardens and pool area were beautifully maintained and had plenty of seats for guests to enjoy sitting in the sun, and there was always a quiet corner in one of the lounges for reading. If you are looking for a good hotel with well-trained staff then you will love this hotel, as I did. I can't wait to return next winter!
