My husband and I stayed at Vuni Palace recently, we booked a short break through gonorthcyprus and got a very good deal. They sorted our transfers too, which was great. We were welcomed warmly by the staff on reception and given a pleasant room, perhaps a little dated, with a wonderful view of the sea from the balcony. The towels were changed very regularly and our room was kept shipshape. The pools and grounds were also perfectly maintained. Really enjoyed the buffets too, great choice. It's wonderful... more
Very nice clean hotel with lots going for it. I stayed for a week with my wife and our toddler, we got a good price from GoNorthCyprus who always handle our bookings to the region. This was our first trip to Vuni Palace and we enjoyed it. Good room with a fantastic sea view and a balcony, decently sized pool and the buffet was varied and tasty. Staff were pleasant and helpful throughout our stay, couldn't fault them. A touch up to the decor here and there wouldn't go amiss. Nice beach area and a... more
My wife and I stayed at Vuni Palace recently on a week's break, which we booked through the GoNorthCyprus website. We were attracted by the low price and relatively good reviews, despite the hotel sounding quite basic. We arrived to a generously proportioned room, everything was clean and well-kept although the bathroom could do with being modernised. The air conditioning was very efficient and we had a nice little balcony. Technology provisions could be replaced, the television was old, but we... more
Clean and smart modern hotel tastefully built by the sea with beautiful palm trees all around. Staff were very professional, friendly and immaculately dressed in uniform. Would happily recommend this place for a most comfortable stay. The food is wonderful. The place is very clean and very well looked after. Special bonus outside was the lovely friendly shy cat family which just made the holiday for me.... more
I read the reviews on this hotel and was very concerned ,but I would highly recommend this hotel ,it's not a five star like we expect a five star but I don't think any of the hotels in Northern Cyprus are !!! The staff couldn't do enough for you ,the meals were very good lots of choice and it's not far from the harbour 15 minutes walk or 15 tl in a taxi In fact the taxis are very reasonable and the hotel run a shuttle to town a couple of times a day would be nice if they did it every hour .... more
My husband and I booked a stay to the Vouni Palace, Kyrenia, mostly because it's a five star hotel. When we go away we like luxury as feel like our accommodation has to be better than home, otherwise it's not worth staying there. We were really looking forward to our holiday and the size of the Vouni Palace gave us hope that it would be really good. We were, unfortunately, disappointed. The whole place was distinctly average and certainly not what you'd expect from a five star hotel. The best thing... more
As a group of friends, we got a great deal through GoNorthCyprus.com to stay at Vouni Palace. We were looking for somewhere reasonable and close to the sea, so the hotel was ideal in that respect. From past reviews we weren't expecting a five-star experience and we didn't pay over the odds for our break anyway but we were happy overall with our time there. The hotel was clean and pleasant and the staff were very helpful and spoke English. The seafront setting is gorgeous and our rooms had balconies... more
I have to say that I am less than impressed with my stay at the Vouni Palace Hotel. I paid for a 5 star hotel and ended up with about 3 star quality. It was very disappointing as my wife and I had saved over the last couple of years for a proper holiday abroad and I feel like we have wasted our money. There were some positives to the hotel such as the spacious bedrooms and really attentive cleaning staff. The pool area was also very good and had plenty of space so we never felt like it was crowded.As... more
Things you would expect from a 5* hotel but which are missing :- a bedside lamp with a 2 pin plug positioned by a 3 pin socket and no adaptor. Reception said an adaptor could be hired - NO the hotel should make sure items are compatible. Hotel catered mainly for the mainland Turkish market and although advertised in UK holiday brochures there was a distinct absence of English breakfast tea. Food was plentiful. The swimming pool area was excellent but the pool it self was freezing. Why oh why oh... more
I came back from staying at the Vouni Palace, North Cyprus, a week ago and have mixed things to say about my stay. I've never been there before and booked because the hotel we usually go to was fully booked. On face value, the hotel is very chic and it's certainly clean but the extra touches you'd expect from a 5 star hotel just weren't there. Our room was comfortable and clean and did have some luxury to its décor. The air conditioning also worked well but the bathroom hadn't been tended to with... more
My wife and I booked a week's stay half board at the Vouni Palace through Go North Cyprus. Mandy was very helpful in finding somewhere to suit our needs and the hotel did in most cases. The hotel itself was perfect in terms of facilities and space. The staff were also really friendly but the location was lacking a bit. The hotel was set quite far back in the old part of the town. The rest of the buildings looked poor and run down. This didn't make a huge difference to our holiday but it didn't give... more
Normally I'd only ever really consider putting a review up on a site if I had a really great or really terrible time at a holiday hotel I'd stayed at, but this time round wasn't all that clear cut so I feel it's really important people get to hear both sides of the story for my stay at the Vouni Palace.Kyrenia is a regular haunt for my family and I as we have relatives who live over there with work and live just inside of Kyrenia town, so we try and get out for holiday breaks on the back of visiting... more
One of the best things about the hotel was the sauna and swimming pool. Disapointingly our room was not withn the hotel so I had to walk some way outside after a sauna and swim etc sometimes when it was quite cold and windy. Also locaton was not bad, out of the main town but only a 15-20 minute walk into the harbour, which was good. The hotel were suppsoed to provide a shuttle into town but we never saw this....The following comments are made thinking we were heading to a plush 5* hotel for... more
My boyfriend and I visited north cyprus for the second time and stayed at the Vouni Palace recently. I was very impressed with the atmosphere of the hotel, as well as the service. Both were great! The outside of the hotel caused a little bit of disappointment at first, as it looks rather square and non-distinct. However, when you walk in the door, be prepared to be awed! The opulence of the décor took my breath away. The styling is very modern and chic – nothing vintage here, thank goodness.... more
My husband and I spent a couple of weeks in the northern cyprus region late in May. This was our first visit and stayed at the Vouni Palace Hotel. I was a little disappointed. Since we were here for a couple of weeks, I expected there to be some kind of entertainment going on at least occasionally but not once during our entire stay was there any type of entertainment or anything for the guests to enjoy. A staff member introduced himself to us (on the day we departed) as the entertainment manager... more
The Vouni Palace was one of the nicer places I've stayed in this area of north cyprus, which was a nice surprise after looking at the outside. The outside of this place looks like an office building – very square and faceless. However once you get inside, you realize it's much different. The lobby is impeccable in its styling. It's plush and modern, with expensive furniture and crystal all over the place. The bedrooms are the same – great atmosphere here. The room was smaller than I'd have... more
The biggest mistake we made when booking this hotel was to assume that the 5 star status in Cyprus matches up with 5 star hotels in the UK-it does not! When my wife and I booked the Vouni Palace, we were fully hoping for paradise and this is not what we received. Instead we received distinctly average accommodation, adequate facilities and acceptable staff. The hotel was very modern which gave it that 'clean,' just built feel. It had some lavish features, particularly in the reception area. However,... more
Our room at the Vuni Palace had a nice sea view, and the hotel is just outside Kyrenia, so it was an ideal mix of town and sea for us. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was fine, but most days we drove the hire car out into the countryside and ate at any local place we found - much better value and I suspect better food too than in Kyrenia centre. Our room was quite large with a small balcony, and remarkably quiet. The spa was good (says the wife), and the bar staff seemed to magically appear whenever... more
Blake and I decided to get away on holiday before the winter cold came about. We chose the Vouni Palace because it was one of the newer hotels. We have to agree that it wasn't a five star hotel as advertised, but it was good enough for a four star status. Our room had a view of the countryside, the sea and the pool. The views were exceptional. During our entire ten days holiday we didn't venture onto the beach as it was perfectly awful. The pool, however, was delightful with plenty of beds... more
From the outside the Vuoni/Vuni (depends on who you book with as to what the name is!!) looks a bit of a faceless block, and even from the pool area it looks more like offices than a hotel. However, my office block certainly hasn't got a view like the one from the sea jetty, miles of uninterrupted Mediterranean Sea!Inside, the lobby decor is designer chic, all square sofas and dangly crystals at the bar area, but actually the whole effect is remarkably welcoming. it's like a intimidating 'celeb'... more
We very much enjoyed or stay at the Vuni, thanks to the nice staff who looked after us very well, and the warm sunshine that revived us after a long and dull Welsh winter. Most of the staff had good English, and were always happy to help if they could. The hotel is very modern in style, but our room was comfortable with a small but perfectly clean bathroom and an air conditioning unit that was very efficient. We were able to sit out on the balcony and look at the sea view for hours, which was a real... more
We went on a holiday with another couple, and we thought that the newer Vouni Palace Hotel would be a great choice. It was not a five star hotel as the travel agent told us it would be. The rooms were adequate with a lovely poolside area. We spent a considerable amount of time there. Both couples did the B & B option and the breakfast was tasty enough. That is the only meal we ate there, however, as the prices are terribly high. One went out for food and drinks because it was a rip off to pay... more
