Altinkaya Holiday Village Review - 4 of 50 Reviews

My husband, myself, our family and another family visited north Cyprus and booked to stay at the apartments over the road from the main part of the Altinkaya Holiday Village and were very impressed. We were particularly pleased with the peace and quiet of the apartment area and our kids loved the separate pool area that we had.

Although our bungalow type apartment was basic and looked a little tired (loose taps, fading curtains etc), it was clean and well equipped and we were lucky to have self catering facilities. I say that because the evening meal menu at the hotel was set and rather limited and the hotel is relatively isolated when it comes to other bars and restaurants. We did, however, eat breakfast in the hotel every day which was ample but a little repetitive. Some of the items, particularly boiled eggs, were substandard but you get that a lot when you go abroad and I guess we really shouldn't have expected English breakfast.

The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful. They made our stay really relaxing, and we felt that if we needed anything they'd have helped. They were also really friendly and encouraging to our children which made us feel comfortable that they were happy for them to play and 'be children.'

While we were there, we considered whether we'd return to the hotel. We found it comfortable, reasonable and peaceful but would probably explore another area of North Cyprus as we'd have liked to venture out and sample typical North Cyprus lifestyle.
