Altinkaya Holiday Village Review - 30 of 50 Reviews

This hotel was suggested by our booking agent (gonorthcyprus.com) as a family friendly destination that we could use as a great base whilst doing some exploring in the region. My father and husband were on business so the rest of the family decided to come along and make a holiday of a week, despite it being the off season. Location wise the hotel was pretty much perfect for us and most families I'd suggest. There is plenty to do in the local area and the nearest town is only a short taxi away. We spent several days walking around and exploring what the local area had to offer – none of which was too far from the resort really which was good. There seemed to be a lot of other people doing the same kind of thing as us and I spoke to a number of people who made this their annual holiday and kept coming back here. Inside the resort the pool was a firm favourite although it wasnt quite warm enough for me. I can guess that in the summer it must be very busy indeed! We paid a very good price for our stay and our rooms weren't enormous but they were really clean and had just about everything you'd expect. I can't complain about them really. Many people staying at the hotel had hired cars but it isn't essential as the public transport options are good. We had several meals in the hotel and I'd say the food was a 7 or 8 out of 10. The buffet was always fresh and we can honestly say we didn't feel the need to complain once. There was both hot and cold options available so a good choice suiting everyone. If you travel into Kyrenia, there are plenty of good places to eat anyhow. The hotel was also really nicely kept and whilst fairly basic, the fact that it was very clean couldn't be disputed. All things considered the Altinkaya holiday resort is a good option for families.
