“My last memory of our stay was having an argument with the receptionist at 0530”
Unfortunately my lasting memory of our stay at the Riverside was when we left the Bungalow for a taxi ride to Ercan Airport at 0530. The whole place was pitch black and I fell of the path into a garden losing my bags, suitcase, sunglasses and room key - how I didn't break my neck I shall never know. I found my case and bags and, after borrowing the receptionists mobile 'phone to use it's torch, my sunglasses. Unfortunately I couldn't find the room key. I returned the 'phone and explained that having fallen off the path I lost the key somewhere on the path or in the garden. To my dismay, the unsympathetic receptionist said "No key - you pay me money". My parting words to him are unprintable, suffice to say, I didn't part with any money.
My recommendation is that they put some form of lighting on the path - it is extremely dangerous at that time in the morning. Thankfully, it was me who fell over and not my wife!
Liked — The weather
