Riverside Holiday Village Review - 4 of 30 Reviews

Our two week holiday in North Cyprus was hot, hot, hot, so we were really grateful for the swimming pools and aircon in our apartment. Villa was airy and light, with a very usable kitchen and was spotlessly cleaned every day. We had hired a car betwwn the four of us which proved useful for sightseeing and trip to the local beaches, shopping in Kyrenia, etc. (There is a shop on site for essentials and treats like chocolate or crisps.)

Breakfast menu consisted mainly of eggs, which was fine if a little repetitive. Lunch at the pool bar, which we had a couple of days, was freshly cooked and always tasty. Dinner menus were limited if you didn't go a la carte, but with a local restaurant just outside the gate and others a quick drive down the road, we ate out most nights anyway as it was really too hot to cook.

Staff were friendly, and the entertainment on Cyprus night (bellydancing) great fun. I wasn't so keen on the Elvis night (!) but the barbeque was excellent and had a nice, relaxed atmosphere. Glad I wasn't grilling the meat in that heat!

Gardens were lovely with lemon trees and lots of palm trees, so you could always find a shady spot to sit which was just as well in the heat.
