“Staying at the Riverside Holiday Village”
As a hotel, the Riverside Holiday Village had its positives and negatives. Some of the hotel is quite shabby and old-looking. The first room we were booked into wasn't acceptable for myself and family (including 2 young children.) My husband and I felt that we had paid good money so were confident in asking for another. The second was much better, but still fairly plain.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. They had no trouble changing us to another room and were always appeared to work hard to get the best for their guests.
The breakfast was very good but we found the evening meals fairly drab- there wasn't a lot of variety. But I guess to those who are less adventurous when it comes to foreign cuisine, this may have been a plus point. I do have to say that the fresh fruit available were excellent and there was always fresh salad to accompany your meal.
The resort was very well equipped, with 3 swimming pools. My two children had an amazing time each day. It is clear that the ethos in the hotel is to encourage families to stay there, the children were made very welcome. I'm not sure it would have been the best choice for a couple or group of adults wanting to get away. However, Kyrenia itself was beautiful and had a great appeal.
