Riverside Holiday Village Review - 23 of 30 Reviews

I was worried about coming here after reading some reviews. I gave the company a ring who I had booked through, Go North Cyprus, and they assured me they had received no bad reviews from this hotel and it had passed their own stringent inspection. As I've dealt with this company several times I was reassured and started looking forward to my holiday.

From the moment I arrived I knew my worries were unfounded. The first thing you notice is the aroma of the honeysuckle as you walk through the gardens packed with fruit trees. The staff were lovely and after only a couple of minutes I was in my room. Spacious, clean and with nice décor, this was ideal for my needs. We were staying on a B&B basis and although breakfast was a bit chaotic on the first day, going down 30 minutes later solved that problem.

This seems to be the general mentality with buffet breakfasts; get there first or it will be all gone! The food was first class for our entire stay, with the A la Carte restaurants providing wonderful dishes at very affordable prices. The maids came in daily and clean towels kept appearing, brilliant. There are 3 pools at the Riverside and they are all spotless and very well maintained.

With plenty of sun loungers and parasols for the adults the kids are also well taken care of with their own pool complete with slides and a nice, well looked after play area. While there wasn't much stock in the on site shop, it was well out of peak season, they had the basics. There was no entertainment laid on which suited us fine, we spent many a great night having a laugh and making new friends in the Ranch bar.

The bus ran a free shuttle service to the beach and it was lovely with free sunbeds. There's even a bar down there and we loved it. Make sure to catch the hotel bus to Kyrenia. It costs buttons and this lovely port is a delight.

We loved this place and are looking to go back next year. If you want a relaxing holiday where nobody hassles you this is the place for you. If you want naff entertainment and kids clubs then jog on and find another hotel.
