This is a hotel review for British Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Lovely spot”
A quirky little hotel right on the harbour. Clean, though rooms could do with a little decorating (peeling wallpaper, re-grouting of tiles in bathroom). Beds changed every two days which was lovely as it was so hot, getting into a lovely clean crisp cool bed was heaven. Air conditioning kept the room lovely and cool during the hot, hot nights. Wonderful views over harbour, city and mountains from the roof terrace. Staff are lovely and helpful. Breakfast is the usual, cheese, meats, olives, tomatoes and honey, very adequate. I would avoid eating around the harbour as it is overpriced and not the best, though the food in Six Brothers was pretty good. Try the back alleys behind the harbour, there are some lovely little restaurants. The Kyrenia Palace Hotel is worth a visit just to look around, there food isn't bad either. Hiring a car was easy from the hotel, £18/day (inc. insurance), driving was easy too, just take your time, get up into the mountains there are some amazing castles, Buffavento, St Helarion and then there is Bellapaise Abbey.
