This is a hotel review for British Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus

“A really pleasant hotel.”

I've just returned from my stay in Kyrenia and had the fortune of being recommended the British Hotel by Gary from Go North Cyprus. I'm aspiring to have a book published and needed somewhere quiet and peaceful to get away from it all and grab some inspiration. I also need somewhere which wasn't going to break the bank- The British Hotel was perfect!

My room was spacious and comfortable. The décor wasn't totally to my taste but this wasn't a big issue. The bathroom was clean and the maid service was really good- I had fresh towels every day. I was also very lucky to have a room with a balcony. The views were breath-taking and very inspirational. I also spent a lot of time writing on the hotel's rooftop terrace. Lucky for me the weather was just right- warm but not unbearable!

The best thing about the British Hotel is its location. It is situated in the middle of Kyrenia so local shops, bars and restaurants are a stone's throw away but because it's set back off the main streets, it is much quieter than you'd expect. The whole of Kyrenia was absolutely stunning but the harbour had to be my favourite. I spent so much time in cafes, just watching everyone going about their everyday life- it really was fascinating. It was also lovely to see that tourism hasn't taken over the town!

The food at the British Hotel was good. Breakfast had a fair choice and everything was fresh. I ate out most of the time because of the fact that Kyrenia inspired me to write so much. On one night I ate in the hotel restaurant; my meal was hot and tasty but nothing to write home about.

I would recommend the British Hotel to anyone wanting a good balance of peace and quiet and entertainment. It wouldn't suit anyone looking for a party every night and obviously, because it's so reasonable, it isn't as luxurious as some of the other hotels.
