We chose this hotel for the location and view, which was spot on. Our particular bedroom had a great view and was very spacious and tastefully decorated, I think the room must have been recently refurbished. The beds and cushions were of a good standard and were exceptionally comfortable. There were plenty of facilities such as the coffee/tea maker but there is a small charge for the small sachets to use as apparently it classes as part of the mini bar! We were on the 4th floor and had a small but very well positioned balcony with a lovely view of the harbour and coastline.

Some of the more negative points included the shower not having much by way of pressure and sometimes didn't heat up as hot as we may have liked it to. We didn't officially complain but we did mention it to reception who said maintenance would be sorting it out for us shortly. I spoke to guests on other floors and it seemed that the closer to the ground your room is, the higher the pressure is and visa versa.

Breakfast was a buffet style continental already laid out on the table. You find a seat and the staff come over to ask how you would like your egg cooked and to take a drink order. Some people like this style of breakfast but others seemed quite unimpressed with it. The hotel is family run and you'd think they would be friendly to add that extra touch. Unfortunately, they didn't seem too happy go lucky! This may have been due to it being pretty much in the off season. Although saying that, we did have a very good time here, the location is simply great and there's a good choice of restaurants around the old cobbled streets, some other hotels are much further away and you would need transport to get about like a hire car.
