“Awesome service at the British Hotel”

I stayed at the British Hotel recently and in spite of it's fairly low 2-star rating, I felt as if I were in a 3 or 4 star hotel! This is our first time to Northern Cyprus and we stayed in a first floor room with a terrace and we had a wonderful view of the sea and the harbour. It was lovely and a great view to wake up to each morning! Our room contained a mini bar and the maids refilled it for us regularly. We also had tea and coffee making facilities in our room, making it handy to have our coffee without having to go to the dining room first thing. Our room was spotless and in addition to cleaning our room daily, the maids replenished our supply of fresh towels twice a day – unusual but very much appreciated!

Breakfast was included with our room rate at the British Hotel and consisted of traditional local cuisine but special requests were honored and served with a smile. The service couldn't be beat, in fact. The servers were polite, efficient, and offered seconds if we were still hungry. They even ironed our clothes for us while we ate breakfast! Where else can you get that kind of service? I hope the whole of North Cyprus is this nice!

We spent a little time hanging out on the rooftop terrace. It's a wonderful view of the harbour and castle and is great for enjoying evening cocktails or having conversation with each other or with other guests. The hotel staff seemed more than happy to bring drinks to the terrace and kept our glasses refilled.

The other thing I really loved about the British hotel was its close proximity to several restaurants and sight-seeing areas, including the harbour. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, which was perfect for us, as we didn't want to bother with public transportation or rent a car.

All in all, I really loved this hotel. There wasn't anything about it I disliked, in all honesty. There was so much to do and so many things close by that I was never bored. I would definitely stay here again and hope to, in fact. I also plan to recommend it to friends of ours who are planning a trip here soon.
