Vouni Palace Hotel Review - 5 of 22 Reviews
This is a hotel review for Vouni Palace Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Great base for exploring”
Our room at the Vuni Palace had a nice sea view, and the hotel is just outside Kyrenia, so it was an ideal mix of town and sea for us. We stayed B&B and the breakfast was fine, but most days we drove the hire car out into the countryside and ate at any local place we found - much better value and I suspect better food too than in Kyrenia centre.
Our room was quite large with a small balcony, and remarkably quiet. The spa was good (says the wife), and the bar staff seemed to magically appear whenever anyone wanted a drink, even late at night. Pool was great, as most of the kids staying at the hotel decided they preferred to use the 'aquapark' at next door Oscar's and left the big pool for us adults.
Kyrenia old harbour area is about 40 mins walk away, but you can cheat and catch Oscar's road train if you want - nobody seems to mind. Taxis are cheap, so there's no need to brave the Kyrenia centre traffic at all. Driving in North Cyprus is easy and the roads seem empty after the horrors of the M6 every day at home...
The Vuni Palace seems to get a lot of its trade from conferences, casino gamblers and wedding parties, so you can feel somewhat on the outside as a tourist. However, if that doesn't bother you, the hotel is good value as a base for exploring North Cyprus.
Liked — peace and quiet
Disliked — drink prices
