We very much enjoyed or stay at the Vuni, thanks to the nice staff who looked after us very well, and the warm sunshine that revived us after a long and dull Welsh winter. Most of the staff had good English, and were always happy to help if they could.

The hotel is very modern in style, but our room was comfortable with a small but perfectly clean bathroom and an air conditioning unit that was very efficient. We were able to sit out on the balcony and look at the sea view for hours, which was a real treat. After realising that the hotel charged a lot for water and had no tea or coffee facilities in the room, we bought water and juices from the nearby shop. We were careful the hotel did not see us bring them in, most TRNC hotels do not allow this, we were told by friends.

The breakfast was lovely and fresh, and the buffet always well stocked with fruit and salads. We were on what turned out to be a very good half board deal. if we had been buying dinner every night, it would have been quite expensive. Luckily we are not great drinkers, as alcohol was very expensive in the hotel.

The hotel beach was small and not really more than a strip of sand, but the jetty into the sea was lovely to sit out on at night - no mosquitos! The pool area was clean with lots of sunbeds available, and effective sun umbrellas meant you could sit in the shade all day.

The area around the hotel is not good, but we took the free shuttle into Kyrenia which is lovely and very easy to walk around. We did not fancy the walk to other restaurants which were about 15 mins away.
