Vouni Palace Hotel Review - 7 of 22 Reviews

The Vouni Palace was one of the nicer places I've stayed in this area of north cyprus, which was a nice surprise after looking at the outside. The outside of this place looks like an office building – very square and faceless. However once you get inside, you realize it's much different. The lobby is impeccable in its styling. It's plush and modern, with expensive furniture and crystal all over the place. The bedrooms are the same – great atmosphere here. The room was smaller than I'd have liked but we had a nice-sized balcony with a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea, so it more than compensated for the smallness of the room. We got a room with two double beds and found that the air conditioner unit was situated close enough to one bed that it froze us out when we tried to sleep in that bed. The second bed was comfortable, so keep that in mind if you are traveling with kids or if for whatever reason you need two doubles.

The food was great here. Breakfasts were excellent. The open buffet was fresh, so that was a pleasant surprise. The waiters did an excellent job of making sure the buffet looked appetising. We ate lunch everyday at the pool bar. Not as yummy as inside but still good. We ate dinners at the Vouni Palace hotel's dining room and thought they were really good also. The only downside to the dinner was the cost of the wine. Overly priced, in our opinion, so we stuck to beer and soft drinks and enjoyed our alcoholic drinks elsewhere.

The staff were great and attended to our needs as best they could, but with some kind of conference in town the same time we were there, they seemed to be a little rushed and busy. We would love to stay here at the vouni palace sometime when it's not quite so crowded, as I expect the service would be slightly better. Even so, we couldn't complain. They were polite and did great under the circumstances. A new gem addition for northern cyprus hotels.
