Ship Inn Hotel Review - 6 of 40 Reviews

My husband and I returned to the Ship Inn after visiting about this time last year. We went with another couple on recommendation of how good it was last time so returned to North Cyprus.

In some ways, the hotel totally lived up to expectations. First and foremost, the price was excellent and it's always a bonus staying somewhere that you have been before. The décor was still clean and fresh and the rooms were very comfortable and we absolutely love its quirky old English look amid the beautiful Mediterranean foliage. It may seem a strange mix but somehow it works. We suggested to our friends that we pay a little extra to get a mountain view room. The views were absolutely breath taking! It actually felt like we were staying in paradise.

The staff were really helpful and after telling them that we'd been before (even though I doubt it incredibly) they went out of their way to suggest that they remembered us and were very helpful with suggesting places to visit and got us a fantastic deal on car hire for exploring Kyrenia.

Being off season, we decided to stay on a half board basis. We did spend one evening in Kyrenia town but were not disappointed at the food in the hotel restaurant. It offered a good choice and the food was always very fresh.

The only way in which the hotel let us down was on its entertainment front. I had told our friends that the previous year they had a good array of evening entertainment (even though on that holiday we didn't watch much of it) and they were really keen to sample it. However, we were faced with very poor singers and a very tired looking belly dancer. They seriously need to go out and have a look at what other hotels had to offer! It didn't ruin our holiday, but we spent many an evening disheartened which then ruined the mood and meant we were often too tired to sit up enjoying the Northern Cyprus evenings.
