Visiting the Ship Inn this month – thought I'd leave a few lines to let others know what my family and I thought about the Ship Inn hotel in Kyrenia. Initially upon arrival we thought the place was great. We, like others, turned up late due to flights (but I think the hotel are actually use to this) and were treated well and checked in quickly and without fuss. We also managed to make dinner – which pleased the boys! While the rooms we had were very clean and quite spacious, they did have a rather tired finish to them. The shower was powerful and clean too but the tiles needed a bit of sprucing up as some of the grout was missing. However, that said, the cleaning staff/housekeeping were thorough and regular. The staff and management at the Ship Inn were nothing but professional and dedicated to ensuring guests were enjoying themselves. There was an air of cheerfulness in the hotel which isn't always the case in the busy seasons. The weather was varied while we were here, it was warm and sunny with spells of a lot of rain! As a result I used the indoor pool quite a bit. I think it wasn't as warm as it should have been but it was still a pleasant experience. I think both the indoor and outdoor pool were the same temperature, which sort of made the point of an indoor pool redundant. The hotel has some amazingly beautiful gardens which really are the gem in the crown of the Ship Inn. The gardener (or gardening team) obviously put in a lot of time and effort and this is one of the biggest selling points for the hotel. Whilst the Ship Inn is in need of a sprucing up, it is a lovely place to stay and the location outside of town means it's a nice place to base yourself if you're looking for a relaxing stay escaping a busy day to day city life.
