Ship Inn Hotel Review - 9 of 40 Reviews

I surprised my wife with a last minute trip to Kyrenia because I managed to get a great deal now the summer season is over. I'm pretty sure that she would've been made up with anywhere we stayed considering it was a treat, but we were both very impressed with the Ship Inn considering its price.

The hotel and apartments were in a great location, on the outskirts of Kyrenia. Being slightly away from the heart of the town meant that it had a more private and quiet feel. Saying that, we were still close enough to be able to visit Kyrenia whenever we fancied it- it was a medium walk away but we are keen walkers. Anybody who didn't fancy a walk could easily hire a car or catch the local bus.

We stayed in one of the hotel rooms. They were very clean and adequately furnished. The room had a traditional feel rather than something ultra modern but we much prefer that. Whilst staying there, my wife and I did say that if we returned, particularly in the summer, we might stay in one of the more spacious annex rooms; they are set in such beautiful grounds.

While we were there, I also paid for my wife to have a massage. She was really thrilled with this- it made the stay that bit more special. We both enjoyed using the indoor pool and jacuzzi too.

The breakfast at the Ship Inn was decent but we did get a little fed up with having the same thing every day. We had a look at the a la carte evening menu which looked very appetising but we decided against eating at the hotel because we were so taken by the traditional bars and restaurants in Kyrenia.

One of the best things about the Ship Inn was the helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them: at one point I requested extra towels and they had them there in an instant. It was so nice that they paid attention to detail because some larger hotels often lack this amount of customer service.

I think it's fair to say that if my wife and I ever return to Kyrenia, we will definitely stay at the Ship Inn again. It offered excellent value for money with very friendly staff.
