Alkan Hotel Review - 7 of 15 Reviews

My wife and I stated at the Alkan Holiday Village in Esentepe for our first wedding anniversary; We booked with Go North Cyprus Holiday company and found them very reliable and helpful throughout. they have a reservation lady called sue who really helped us get this trip right on the money. We went to Northern Cyprus in the middle of July and were very impressed with the hotel. We are not really city people, and we wanted to stay somewhere that was outside the city, but not too far away. We had a look online and we found the Alkine, as always we were a bit skeptical at first as you always are when you randomly book something on the internet. It had everything we were looking for, it wasn't in a prime tourist location, and the price was extremely reasonable. If you want to be somewhere a bit more central then this is not the place for you, because it is about a 30 minute drive from the town center. The drive is really nice though, you get to view a lot of scenery on the way.

The Alkan Holiday Village was much more than we were expecting. We stayed in one of their bungalows, it was extremely well decorated, had all the amenities and it was huge! We were on a tight budget so we decided to use the kitchen facilities which were fully equipped. The hotel was directly across the street from the sea, we had a beautiful veranda overlooking it.

All the rooms had full air conditioning, and the windows had screens on them so that if we wanted to keep them open we could without the mosquito's getting in, as well as being able to listen to the sounds of the sea at night, which would rock us to sleep.

During the day there was a bit of heavy traffic along the lake road, but it calmed down a lot in the evening. The Alkan Holiday Village also had a very nice outdoor pool with deckchairs for sunbathing. Even though we chose to cook our own meals they also had a very nice onsite restaurant that we could have our breakfast at each morning since it was included in the room rate. We also popped in for dinner a couple of times and the food was delightful.

This is definitely a hotel that I would recommend, and my wife and I would visit again without a second thought. We'd also suggest using Go North Cyprus as your travel company too as they really took the hassle out of our arrangements.
