Alkan Hotel Review - 11 of 15 Reviews

The Alkan hotel was a completely new experience for us. We visit Northern Cyprus very regularly (about 4 times per year) and have both family and friends who live out there. Last trip went a little pear shaped with a hotel booking so we found a booking company to do it for us this time round. Recommended online was one called gonorthcyprus.com holiday bookings, so we gave them a call. The lady we spoke to was very helpful and knew a lot about the hotels in the area. We gave her our requirements and she suggested a few good hotels that might suit us. We chose the Alkan in the end and thankfully it was a great choice! It's not a huge hotel but it is very well ran and kept. There are many apartment style accommodation rooms, which we had one of. They seemed a nice change to standard hotel rooms. We had all of the amenities in our room and even a kitchen area although we didn't end up using it much as we spent so much time out. Unlike many hotels in this area, we had a nice view of the sea too. Neither of us swim, but we did lounge around the pool and it looked extremely clean and well kept. There were plenty of other people enjoying it too. Their pool looked great (although we don't really swim, but do lounge around when we get the chance!) With family we took a few trips out to the nearby town called Kyrenia, very happily to report this was only about 25 minutes away, so no long journeys were needed. To round it up I'd say if you want a place to chill out and take some time to yourself and get away from the hustle and bustle, the Alkan hotel might be the right choice for you.

Liked — a really good alternative and relaxing place to base yourself
Disliked — I'm not sure we have a complaint worth putting in here.
