Alkan Hotel Review - 12 of 15 Reviews

I've just come back from my second ever stay at the Alkan Holiday Village and it totalled reaffirmed why I chose to return! It is an absolute gem of a hotel! I've stayed there previously with my husband but took one of my girlfriends there to cheer her up after she'd been having a difficult time. We booked the stay through go North Cyprus and Mandy made it so easy for us. I recommended the Alkan to my friend because of how quiet and peaceful it was and it was exactly the same this time. It's set quite far away from the nearest town, Esentepe, but for us that was lovely as we'd only gone there for a bit of R and R.

We had a wonderful, spacious bungalow which over-looked the sea. It was stunning waking up every morning to the view! The bungalow was really clean and had excellent facilities. Some of the décor was quite quirky but I think it's just very traditional, being a small family- run hotel.

Although we self-catered on some nights, we did visit the restaurant quite a few times as the traditional food was delicious and so plentiful! We were told exactly what was in our main dishes and even that the fish my friend had, had been caught literally two hours before!

Apart from its stunning scenery and unrivalled tranquillity, the Alkan Holiday Village has such friendly staff! Nothing was ever too much trouble and they were keen to tell us about the history of the local area. In fact, they said it so well that they persuaded us to go site seeing (which is something we didn't plan to do!) I would go back to the Alkan at any given opportunity and I think my friend would as well! It probably isn't brilliant suitable for large groups or young people looking for a bit of excitement, but if all you want is a relaxing holiday which helps you to forget about your troubles, this is the place!
