“Good value Esentepe accommodation”
We stayed twice at the Alkan Holiday Village while our Esentepe apartment was being finished. For us the location was ideal because it was just a 5 min drive to our new development, but it would be great for anyone on holiday too, especially golf fans. The Alkan is only a 10 min drive to the Korineum golf course, the only 18 hole course in North Cyprus.
The Alkan's mini-villas are all self-catering, which suited us nicely as we could stock the fridge with what we needed and eat out if we wanted to. Our villa was nicely furnished, spotlessly clean and cool thanks to the air con, which we were surprised to need for a couple of days in May. The kitchen equipment provided is a bit basic, but fine to make for a meal for a family so long as you're not a budding Masterchef!
We didn't have much time to sit by the pool, but enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking out to sea. There is a beach/rock area across the (main) road, but it's not anything special and there are much better beaches in North Cyprus
Alkan's mother runs the Turtle Beach restaurant which is great for tasty dinners and even my meat-loving wife enjoyed the vegetarian food.
For property hunters like us on a budget, we found the Alkan to be good accommodation at a good price, with nice friendly service, both times we stayed there. Our apartment is now finished, but we'll be sending the mother-in-law down to the Alkan, never fear....
Liked — peace and quiet
Disliked — losing a round of golf to my husband...
