Manolya Hotel Review - 9 of 20 Reviews

I've just got back from a fabulous off-season holiday to North Cyprus. We stayed in Lapta, Kyrenia, in a wonderful hotel called the Manolya Hotel. My partner got a fabulous deal from a website we found on Google- www.gonorthcyprus. We dealt with a really funny travel agent called Gary, who quickly built up a rapport with us as customers; this meant that he really understood what we were looking for in a holiday. Both my partner and I have quite anti-social jobs which makes it very hard for us to go away during the summer months so we were looking for a bit of sun and a lot of personality from our holiday! Kyrenia is a fabulous destination to visit because it is relatively unscathed by tourism. It has a beautiful harbour, interesting history and excellent restaurants. The weather we had wasn't too bad either- it definitely got us away from the British rain! The Manolya Hotel had the most welcoming staff I have ever met at a hotel, from the receptionists to the cleaners. Nothing was too much trouble. Ever. The owners run such a wonderful business, with great attention to detail including custom cooked omelettes in the morning and delicious fresh dishes for dinner. The staff were also really helpful in sorting out car hire so we could do some sight-seeing. This was a massive bonus as we hadn't booked anything beforehand. Fortunately, as the hotel was quiet, we were allocated a refurbished room as some of the hotel was looking a little tired. From what I can gather though, they are quickly trying to renovate their rooms ready for the summer season. Since coming back, my partner and I have discussed using the Manolya as our quiet out of season getaway - it had everything we needed in a hotel, in a beautiful area!
