Manolya Hotel Review - 6 of 20 Reviews

Myself and a few friends were desperate for a last minute trip away after some stressful times at work. We didn't have a great deal of money to spend so were looking for a cheap stay in a lovely place. After reading mixed reviews about the Manolya, we decided to take a punt. Our main reason was that Lapta looked like a lovely place and we also wanted to visit Kyrenia for its history.

When we arrived at the Manolya, it didn't impress but it did what it said on the tin. It was a clean hotel with basic facilities, priced at a fair price for what it offered. We didn't spend long in the hotel but it was safe and clean enough for us to stay overnight before we continued our adventures in the day and into the night.

The rooms were fairly comfortable, with everything we needed. The room we stayed in looked like it had recently been given a lick of paint, but the bathroom was clearly quite old. However, there wasn't anything to seriously object to and compared with budget hotels in the UK, it wasn't really out of place.

The breakfast on offer was simple, with little choice. But it was a traditional continental breakfast and was nice and fresh.

The staff in the hotel were really friendly and helpful. They gave us directions on several occasions and put up with our dippy comments so we couldn't really complain!

I do think I would consider staying at the Manolya again because it was perfectly adequate for the price I paid. It wasn't pretending to be anything grand and it wasn't below my expectations. North Cyprus was beautiful with so much to offer!
