This is a hotel review for Merit Park Hotel in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Nice November break”
I was a little concerned about visiting North Cyprus out of season, (November) so chose the Mercure Hotel as it was 5 star and open all year round. When we arrived our room was ready and we got one with a sea view without even asking, which was nice. The room was clean, airy and with modern decor, and a clean if a little snug bathroom.
Probably because of the time of year, the swimming pool terrace was nearly empty so I could always find somewhere to sit in the sun or the shade - it was surprisingly hot on a couple of days..
The breakfast buffet was well stocked with fruit and cheese, and the option to have a freshly cooked omelette a treat my husband enjoyed very much. There was no full English breakfast option. We had dinner in the hotel one night but found it rather expensive for a good but not exceptional meal, so we ate out in Kyrenia for three nights, and at the local restaurants for the other nights. We found the taxi fare into Kyrenia was worth it for the better choice of reasonably priced restaurants, most of whom seemed very pleased to see us so late in the season.
Liked — hotel, location
Disliked — prices for dinner
