We took a 3 day break at the Mercure at the end of June. On arrival, we found the reception area extremely hot and had to wait for almost 10 minutes to be attended to. Once checked in, a very friendly porter escorted us to our sea view room on the first floor which was bright and beautifully furnished, however, without a balcolny, which was a pity as we had to sit INSIDE and look at the stunning views. Everything one would expect of a 5 star hotel was on offer in the room and plenty of nice toiletries too in the spacious bathroom. We stayed on the Ultra All Inclusive basis and found food and drinks were readily available at anytime during the day. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner consisted of a huge choice, but whilst very good, we did not class it as 5 star food.

We were very disappointed that there was no indoor air-conditioned a la carte restaurant, and I think if one were staying for a week or more, the buffet food would get very repetitive and monotinous.

Air conditioning in the room was completely adequate, but the temperature in the public areas was far too hot to be comfortable.....the lounge surrounding the Sherwood Bar was unbearably hot at times, and this was only June, I dread to think what it would be like in August!

They really need to upgrade the airconditioning systems in the public areas. Another annoyance was the fact that we had to go to the bar ourselves to get drinks - whilst they had several people clearing tables, they never asked if we wanted anything, and also the bar service was very slow.

The pool area is lovely, with more than enough sunbeds, towels etc., and the hotel also boasts beautiful gardens running rown to the sea.

A warning, if you go at weekends, expect a huge influx of Turkish people with lots of children, and many locals coming into the Casino.

We felt they offered good value for money with the Ultra All Inclusive, but we would be prepared to pay a little extra for REAL 5 star food, and the ability to eat in an indoor air-conditioned a la carte restaurant, if desired.

Disliked — Public areas too hot, staff not very attentive.
