“Lovely week days - Dreadful weekends”
We had a lovely holiday at the Mercure. Hotel was fabulous, clean, lovely rooms, excellent air conditioning in the rooms, but totally inadequate in the rest of the hotel. Pool areas was spotlessly clean & well maintained. Food was typical Turkish/Cypriot which is to be expected, If you want English food you stay in England. Weekdays were great, Weekends was utter chaos, with day trippers taking over the pool & beach & restaurant, really dreadful, & if we had arrived on the Friday we would have changed our Hotel. But fortunately the week days were great. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in rooms, but a good room service is provided. There is a total lack of entertainment in the evenings, apart from the casino.The mini bar is full on arrival. but when empty they charge to refill. So advise you fill up at local supermarket as drinks to buy for mini bar at hotel are expensive. We have enjoyed our stay & would say the hotel is a 4/5 star in the week with a 1 star at weekends.
