I like to think that after more than a decade of holidays in Kyrenia, I must be one of the foremost authorities on the hotels (and admittedly, bars) there by now. I've never really been one for using the internet but after enjoying my all-time best stay in the region last October it seems only right that I give credit where credit is due. Starting, surprisingly, with Sue at Go North Cyprus who handled my booking for me and was very thorough.

We chose the Life Hotel purely on the basis that I knew it had had some refurbishments in recent times and that the pictures online do a great job of advertising their central appeal. As an avid reader, having somewhere relaxing to sit (particularly somewhere that makes a good cup of coffee) is a must, so that pretty much sold it for me.

What I didn't bank on is how much care and effort has been put into the renovations elsewhere in the hotel. Some prying with the staff revealed that management of the hotel has recently been handed down a generation and although there is clearly a new vision for its future it is a task that is being taken very seriously. I honestly hadn't expected to spend more than five minutes indoors at a time whilst I was away but the comfort and atmosphere inside was actually quite difficult to drag myself away from.

As I mentioned earlier, this was without a doubt my favourite ever trip to Cyprus, and the years have produced some stiff competition for the crown. I hope this hotel continues to move from strength to strength and that you all enjoy your visits as much as I obviously did.
