“High Life Holiday Village!”
I've just come back after spending a fornight in the Highlife Hotel. The manager, Beha and his family who run the hotel are all extremely nice people and did everything they could to improve our stay. The view from the terrace where diners are seated are wonderful. The pool area is very clean and poolside accessories such as loungers are plentiful and available for free.
Meals are reasonably good, but I didn't like paying £3.00 extra for English breakfast. If you are visiting on half board, you will have to pay extra for the themed evenings, these being Kleftica on Wednesday and a Barbeque on Sunday. The Kleftica was excellent, but the BBQ left an awful lot to be desired I'm afraid.
A car is pretty important because the hotel quite a way off the beaten track down an unlit track, although taxis are cheap enough to get into the town or other local attractions. If you ask at reception, staff will be more than happy to call one for you. Plenty of local restaurants serving a variety of meals, catering for all tastes and serving most different world cuisines if you shop around.
There were an awful lot of stray cats around, so if you don't enjoy the company of hungry felines you'd better remember to keep your doors and windows closed. We encountered many stray animals on our stay, and although they seemed fairly diminutive it was something of a worry to have them around the children. Air conditioning was also a bit noisy.
Liked — Food was great, the themed nights were fun too.
Disliked — I noticed a few stray animals
