Colony Hotel Review - 44 of 98 Reviews

I flew to North Cyprus to visit an old friend over the festive period and found a company www.gonorthcyprus.com to book through. They suggested about 5 different hotels that were within easy travelling distance of the area my friend lives in so I chose one at random and that happened to be the Colony Hotel, Kyrenia. I arrived at an ungodly hour due to a delay with the airport transfer but the staff were prepared and booked me in quickly. One small issue did occur when the room I was booked into was already occupied for some reason, however the manager simply put me in a better room for free without even a second thought. That was very good of him and made me feel valued as a customer.

The following morning I explored a little and found a pool which nobody seemed to be using. The weather wasn't fantastic but it wasn't that bad nobody could swim, so I took advantage of the peace and quiet and took a relaxing dip. Breakfast was as expected, lots of fresh fruit and a buffet style offering. I couldn't see anything that would make me think anything other than that the food prepared was very hygienic and the dining room staff were polite and courteous at all times too. As promised by Sue (the lady we booked through) it was only a short taxi ride to my friends home.

I made the journey several times during the week and couldn't have hoped for a better located hotel for my purpose. I have to say, the hotel wasn't overly busy but I think maybe the time of year had something to do with that. That said, every member of staff helped where they could and always smiled. Many thanks to them and I will take many good memories of North Cyprus home with me.
