My daughter recently got engaged and their wedding is planned for the Summer, so as a family we thought it would be nice to have one last holiday together before the madness of the wedding arrangements take over!! A friend of ours has travelled to Northern Cyprus countless times over the years and suggested we use a company called Go North Cyprus holidays to book as they're the experts on the best places to stay. After visiting the website we gave them a call and they offered us a series of hotels that matched our families requirements. We gave it some thought and between us we decided that the best hotel for us was one called the Colony Hotel which was in Kyrenia. We flew direct and it was actually a pretty pleasant experience. This time of year meant we weren't expecting anything amazing in terms of weather but none the less it was nice enough. Our flight got us in late in the evening but the Colony Hotel staff were happy to book us in swiftly on our arrival. I guess that they're used to late arrivals and plan accordingly. The Colony hotel was well presented and very tidy. We bumped into house keeping pretty often so it was clear that the management are big on cleanliness. This was reflected in the breakfast buffet line up. Each day there was plenty of fresh fruit and the usual sort of things you'd expect at a breakfast buffet in North Cyprus. We spent several days in the town of Kyrenia, which wasn't too far away. It gave us plenty of opportunity to stretch our legs and see the sights. I think this is more of a summer town, but I'd say all in all we had a great time. My daughter and her fiance said they were coming again next year, but in the peak of the summer next time so they can spend a bit of time on the seafront.
