Club Simena Review - 13 of 40 Reviews

This was my second stay at the Club Simena Hotel in North Cyprus and I can honestly say it was just as good the second time as it was the first time. This time, I came with a large group and the staff were just as welcoming to our group as they were when I came with only one other person. The entire hotel staff is very attentive and helpful in every possible way.

As far as the hotel itself, it's not one of the finer hotels in Northern Cyprus, but it is warm and welcoming and I prefer the atmosphere here to the stuffiness of a luxury hotel anyway. The pool is clean and has plenty of lounging room available and there's music playing during the day at the poolside bar, which is never crowded. We spent most of our days sunbathing and hanging out around the bar, whiling away the hours. There are also some water slides at the pool, which are free to use, and not only are they fun, but climbing up the stairs is great exercise! Even though there's a hotel gym, I found that using the slides at the pool all day is all the exercise I needed. Just be careful, as the stairs leading up from the pool are quite slippery.

In the evenings, they cranked up the karaoke machine and it was a blast! If you like participating in your own version of live music, this is definitely the place to go in the evening hours. If you feel like doing something besides singing karaoke in the evenings, or want to eat at one of the restaurants in town, the bus runs back and forth from the hotel to Kyrenia constantly and it's cheap to ride. There are also quite a few major beaches in and around North Cyprus area of Kyrenia also, so if you get tired of the pool and want to spend some time on the beach, you can ride the bus into town and have your pick of several local beaches.

In my opinion, the Club Simena is a great hotel, and it's a great value for the money too. I hope to be able to come back a third time – maybe on my next vacation.
