Club Simena Kyrenia North Cyprus

This is a hotel review for Club Simena in Kyrenia, North Cyprus

“A Group Trip To Club Simena Hotel”

A few friends and I were looking for a place to 'get away from it all' for a few days and decided to try out the Club Simena Hotel in Northern Cyprus. Because we were on a pretty strict budget, we needed inexpensive, but naturally we were hoping for clean and comfortable as well. The Club Simena Hotel was everything we could have asked for and more! Here's why we liked it so much:

Our bungalows were spacious, the furnishings were tasteful, if simple, and the décor was bright and cheerful. On top of that, the place was spotless. I was also very impressed with the hotel staff and with the service. We arrived late in the evening but were greeted warmly by the staff regardless. They offered us an arrival cocktail, in spite of the late hour. This was hospitality at it's finest in Northern Cyprus!

We ate a few meals in the hotel dining room and thoroughly enjoyed the meal service each and every time. The menu offered a variety of dishes – everything from the very basic to the more refined. They offered local fare as well, so for those of us who wanted to try something native, we had quite a bit to choose from. The hotel offers room service as well. We ordered from the room service menu only once but were impressed with the speed of delivery, as well as with the freshness of the food upon arrival.

Nearby is the North Cyprus harbor city of Kyrenia, where you can spend endless hours immersed in native culture. We spent some time hanging around the harbour, watching boats come and go and sampling even more varieties of local cuisine at various restaurants that overlook the harbour. The shopping in Kyrenia is excellent, with lots of places to either browse or buy, and the historic sites are plentiful and awe-inspiring! We spent quite a few evenings browsing this beautiful harbor town and soaking up the local culture. Kyrenia is too far away from Club Simena to walk there and back, but we found the local bus system easy to use and buses stopped at the hotel frequently, so it was not a problem getting back and forth.

The only thing that was disappointing to us is that we found some of the local beaches less than appealing, with trash here and there. Since it was off-season, however, it wasn't a big issue. We assumed that probably during the busy season, the beaches are maintained much better. All in all, we highly recommend Club Simena Hotel for anyone who wants a peaceful and relaxing vacation. I know my friends and I are already planning our trip here next year!

Liked — Really good value for money
Disliked — Beaches a little dirty in the off season
