This is a hotel review for Bellapais Monastery Village in Kyrenia, North Cyprus
“Nice hotel shame about the food.”
Our flight time meant we arrived late at the hotel and all they could produce was one small sandwich! The hotel staff and rooms are fine great credit to the staff of all departments nothing was too much trouble and always smiling. The room was on 2 levels and ideal for us.We had booked for half board but after 3 days decided it wise to eat out for everything. Breakfast was alwful coffee bland, orange juice, not for the faint hearted and food uninspiring and why they have to produce a menu at breakfast time who knows. Evening meals served on the terrace meaning the food had to be brought up from downstairs and then served on cold plates, again same old thing too much on the menu, tough meat but I must praise the home made soups they were good. The Hotel is a long way from any bar or restaurant so a taxi is a must but there are so many stunning restaurants either in the village above the hotel or in Kyrenia there is no reason to eat the bland fare offered by the hotel. Not 4 star but a good 3 star is how I would rate it.
