Bellapais Monastery Village Review - 33 of 65 Reviews

We booked a stay (half-board) at the Bellapais using a company called Go North Cyprus holidays. All of the reviews we looked at were overwhelmingly positive, excepting a few that had a problem with the décor, and we're not usually too concerned about the aesthetics of where we stay.

The Bellapais is made up of independent bungalows surrounded by some wonderfully kept gardens. The swimming pool is great and has its own bar, and not far from there you can enjoy a lovely view of the Bellapais Monastery, which looks particularly good at sunset. The bungalows are on two floors, and we found them cosy in their own way.

Our favourite thing about the Bellapais was the fantastic level of hygiene and cleanliness maintained throughout our stay. As I've said, the outward appearance of a hotel is unimportant to us- most hotels in the Mediterranean seem to suffer from a slightly dated look- but cleanliness most certainly is. We barely saw any dust or litter for our entire stay, which must be quite the undertaking for the staff because the Bellapais was a hive of activity

Speaking of the staff: they did their jobs exceptionally well, and somehow always managed a smile even when clearly rushed off their feet. In the rare instances when we had a problem or a favour to ask, they all did their very best to accommodate us quickly and without fuss.

The restaurant is another good reason to stay at the Bellapais- the chef clearly knows what he/she is doing, which is such a relief when they're cooking for you at least once a day. The food tasted brilliant and was presented in a very attractive manner on every dish.

As you can probably tell, we are already excited to visit this hotel again.
